One of the most remarkable moments during the Governor’s Night last July 17, 2026, as part of the T’nalak Festival, was Governor Reynaldo Sucayan Tamayo Jr. heartfelt recognition of the leaders who came before him.

Instead of focusing only on the present, he honored every past Governor of South Cotabato from the very first provincial governor up to the administration before his own acknowledging their dedication, hard work, and contributions to the growth of our province.

It was inspiring to witness a leader who recognizes that progress is built on the foundation laid by those who served before us. Leadership is not just about creating a legacy but also about appreciating the legacies of others.

A true display of humility, gratitude, and unity. This is the kind of leadership that brings people together and reminds us that South Cotabato’s success is a shared achievement across generations.

KORONADAL CITY – The municipality of Polomolok emerged as the grand champion of the "Flavors of the South Year 4" culinary competition held in Koronadal City on Friday, July 17.

The high-stakes gastronomic battle drew cooking teams from eight municipalities across South Cotabato, each vying to showcase the province’s diverse culinary identity.

While Polomolok took the top spot, the municipality of Lake Sebu secured first runner-up, and Koronadal City finished as second runner-up.

In addition to the overall championship, competing municipalities took home minor category titles:

- Polomolok: Best Appetizer and Best Innovative Pancit

- Lake Sebu: Best Main Dish

The "Flavors of the South" is a premier culinary showcase featured annually during the Tnalak Festival. The event brings together local chefs, home cooks, food producers, and artisans to highlight the province's rich agricultural yield and cultural heritage.

This year’s competition was held in conjunction with the landmark 27th Tnalak Festival and the 60th Founding Anniversary of South Cotabato.
