The Local Government Unit of Maddela joins the 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) through the guidance of the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office headed by Mr. Edwin Besas, MDRRMO.
All officials and employees participated on the said activity this 13th day of March, 2025 at 3:00pm with the following guidelines:
1. Do the DUCK, COVER and HOLD position for a period of one (1) minute, upon
hearing the sound of SIREN. Cover yourself or hide under the chair, table or sturdy
object;
2. After one (1) minute, observe for aftershocks for thirty (30) seconds or after the
earthquake is over. Stay CALM!
3. Stay away from glass windows, shelves, cabinets and other heavy objects;
4. Go out of your respective offices/building in an orderly manner giving preference to Senior Citizens, PWDs, Pregnant women, children, and other vulnerable groups. Don't PANIC!
5. Assemble in an open space in single line per office and check for injuries and/or
missing person from your office (headcount);
6. Stay away from trees, powerlines, posts and concrete structures;
7. Before returning to your offices, check for water and electrical line for damages;
spill of chemical, toxic and flammable materials and control fires which may spread;
8. Ensure that all clients in your respective offices also participate actively as their
safety is also our concern and priority;
The Earthquake Drill is conducted once every quarter in order to test the ability of the rescue team and the performance of the employees in evacuating outside the building. The drill will be conducted with a simulated intensity 5 earthquake.
