The Municipality of Malimono, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism (DOT) – Caraga, successfully conducted the Orientation on the Tourism Guidebook for LGUs (TGLO) and Training-Workshop on Local Tourism Development Planning (LTDP) – Session I on August 12–14 at the Malimono Women’s Center for Training and Development.

The technical sessions were facilitated by Mr. Kenneth Lorenz A. Ruedas of the DOT–Tourism Development Planning Division (TDPD) and Ms. Junesther Jean I. Valdez, Chief Tourism Operations Officer of DOT Caraga. The activity brought together local stakeholders in a meaningful learning and planning process aimed at enhancing the capacity of the Local Government Unit in tourism governance, development planning, and destination management.

The initiative underscores the importance of strengthening local capacities and establishing a clear, participatory, and sustainable framework for tourism development. Through the TGLO orientation and LTDP training-workshop, the LGU and its tourism stakeholders are better equipped to identify local tourism potentials, address development needs, formulate responsive strategies, and align tourism initiatives with the broader goals of sustainable and inclusive community development.

This collaborative undertaking reflects the shared commitment of the Municipality of Malimono and the Department of Tourism – Caraga to advancing tourism through informed planning, strengthened institutional capacity, and active stakeholder participation—laying a stronger foundation for a more sustainable, competitive, and community-centered tourism sector in Malimono.

MABUHAY!

The Municipality of Malimono proudly marks another significant milestone with the successful turnover of the Malimono Public Transport Terminal, a testament to the Local Government's unwavering commitment to improving public service and fostering sustainable local development.

The turnover ceremony was honored by the presence of the Provincial Governor of Surigao del Norte, Hon. Robert Lyndon S. Barbers, Vice Governor Hon. Geed Gokiangkee, distinguished Members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Members of the Sangguniang Bayan, barangay officials, department and office heads, and other valued stakeholders whose support and partnership made this milestone possible.

This landmark project, with a total investment of ₱10,000,000.00, was generously funded by the Provincial Government of Surigao del Norte through the visionary leadership and unwavering support of Governor Hon. Robert Lyndon S. Barbers. The realization of this public transport terminal reflects the Provincial Government's continuing commitment to strengthening local infrastructure, improving the delivery of essential public services, and promoting inclusive economic growth among the municipalities of the province.

With sincere appreciation, Municipal Mayor Hon. Arnel S. Amalla and Vice Mayor Hon. Robert T. Senaca, together with the entire Local Government Unit of Malimono, express their heartfelt thanks to all individuals and agencies who contributed to the realization of this project. May this new public transport terminal serve as a gateway to safer, more efficient, and more accessible transportation while supporting the municipality's economic progress and tourism development for years to come.

The Local Government Unit of Malimono proudly participated in the 1st Semester Provincial Development Council (PDC) Meeting held at the Provincial Convention Center.

During the meeting, Municipal Mayor Hon. Arnel S. Amalla presented the proposed Aqua Park at Punta Malimono, a priority tourism infrastructure project envisioned to enhance the municipality’s tourism offerings, attract investments, create employment opportunities, and stimulate local economic growth.

The presentation reflects Malimono’s commitment to sustainable tourism development and its continued pursuit of innovative projects that will contribute to the progress and prosperity of the municipality and the Province of Surigao del Norte.

Last June 12, the Local Government Unit of Malimono proudly joined the nation in commemorating the 128th Philippine Independence Day through a meaningful flag-raising ceremony and program, paying tribute to the courage, patriotism, and sacrifices of the Filipino heroes who fought for our nation's freedom.

The celebration served as a reminder that the liberty we enjoy today was earned through the unwavering dedication of those who came before us. What a colorful and joyful celebration at the recently concluded Pasayan Festival 2026 last May 15, 2026! 🎉🦐

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined and made the event lively, memorable, and full of smiles. The activity, organized by the Provincial Government of Surigao del Norte under the leadership of Governor Hon. Robert Lyndon S. Barbers, truly brought together communities in a festive showcase of culture, unity, and camaraderie.

Leading the celebration was our active and supportive Municipal Mayor, Hon. Arnel S. Amalla, together with the esteemed Sangguniang Bayan members Hon. Natividad P. Abraham and Hon. Eulogio S. Ferol III, as well as Municipal Treasurer Mrs. Adoracion M. Unclara.
