No Nitrox? No problem! When Lovette signed up for our Malapascua trip, she mentioned that she needed Nitrox specialty certification to take advantage of all the Nitrox dives, but was not based in Manila.

No sweat. Mako Expeditions sent her the e-learning a week prior and then PADI Instructor Noel Guevara 🇵🇭 taught her how to analyze and log tanks and set her computer up upon arrival in Malapascua. She was Enriched Air certified the night before all the diving started! They did an NDL comparison on the first two dive to round up the course.

Dive into the world-renowned Island of the Sharks on this 10-day expedition to Costa Rica with

Famous for its mega-pelagic wildlife, including Hammerhead Sharks, Whale Sharks, Tiger Sharks, Silky Sharks, and the iconic Cocos Blenny, Cocos Island is a dream destination for all divers.

We'll spend 7 days diving iconic sites such as Manuelita, Alcyone, and Big/Small Dos Amigos, along with others. Land trips to the island itself will also be available as an add-on.

Snaps from 's Open Water weekend! The weather was rough on the second day, but the sun eventually broke through on the last day, setting the perfect conditions for certification and fun dives.

We spent most of our dives going around Mainit corner for calmer conditions during this Habagat season.

Never leaving Karen's side was her underwater wingwoman , who excitedly showed her every single Nudibranch she could find.

This wouldn't have been possible without the tireless support of staff and dive pros.

🚨 New Trip Alert: Best of Palau with two spawning events! 🚨

The first trip for 2027 will be to the island nation of Palau! Dive into this world-class destination for powerful currents, thriving reefs, thrilling encounters with pelagics, and spawning events!

The 7-Day itinerary focuses on the highlights of Palau such as Blue Corner, Blue Hole, Uulong Channel, and the German Channel with two (2) days of diving the Moorish Idol spawning event. Extend another three days for the 10-Day itinerary which adds three (3) days of diving the Bohar Snapper spawning!

We're also adding options to 1) replace one of the non-spawning diving days with a day dive trip to Peleliu Island, and 2) snorkel with reef sharks in Shark City before your departure flight.

Base prices are as follows:
7-Day Itinerary (Jan 12-19) - Best of Palau & Moorish Idol Spawning: $2,400
10-Day Itinerary (Jan 12-22) - Best of Palau & Moorish Idol Spawning + Bohar Snapper Spawning: $3,500

That's a wrap for ' Malapascua May 2026 trip! With 13 guests, this inaugural journey was a huge success. Half of the attendees joined us from the Tubbataha expedition, while the others came just for the Threshers. It was a pleasure to share the ocean and sharks with all of you. Next year's Philippine Sharks Expedition will be even bigger!
