Philippine Coast Guard Spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea, 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐉𝐚𝐲 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐚, described Bajo de Masinloc or Scarborough Shoal, as the “𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐮𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐱” of China’s so-called “𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞” in the South China Sea.

In his Facebook post, he cited China’s 1974 seizure of the Paracel Islands and the militarization of seven reefs in the Spratlys as part of its strategic expansion.

RADM Tarriela said 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐚𝐥 remains the only unfinished point in this configuration, underscoring its strategic importance and the need for continued vigilance amid ongoing tensions in the West Philippine Sea.

Sa ating mga g**o, reading comprehension at context should work both ways.

Malinaw ang sinabi ni Usec. Claire Castro, “ang IBANG g**o.” Hindi “LAHAT ng g**o,” malaki ang pagkakaiba ng mga salitang yan! At maliwanag na hindi sinabi ni Usec Castro na, "ang mga g**o sa Ateneo ang dahilan ng shooting".

Sana, ang totoong sinabi niya ang kontrahin natin, huwag nating palitan ang statement para mas madaling atakihin. Kung ang kinokontra ay isang statement na hindi naman sinabi, then we're no longer correcting her, we're simply creating our own version of her statement and attacking that instead.

Huwag gamitin ang pagiging g**o para manalo sa argumento. Gamitin natin ang standards ng pagiging g**o para maging patas sa katotohanan. Dahil kapag ang maling interpretation ay paulit-ulit nang ipinipilit bilang eksaktong sinabi ng isang tao, hindi na iyon simpleng opinyon lang, misinformation na iyon.

At bilang mga g**o, mas mataas dapat ang standard natin sa katotohanan, fairness, at responsible communication. May Code of Ethics ang mga g**o for a reason.
