In line with DOTr Memorandum Circular 2020-014 dated 03 August 2020, "ALL public transport passengers MUST wear FACE SHIELDS, apart from face masks, starting 15 August 2020."

This covers public transport passengers in the sectors of aviation, maritime, road, and railways.

The MIAA enjoins everyone to follow this new development.

This Travel Bans and Restrictions Update is prepared in response to queries received by the Department on its social media accounts and to provide guidance to all Filipinos intending to travel to and from the Philippines.

The DFA encourages all Filipinos traveling out from and returning to the Philippines to refer and be initially guided by the following Travel Restrictions imposed by countries across the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Please note that this information is subject to change without prior and sufficient public notice.

Travelers, even with valid visas or confirmed flights, should consult with relevant Embassies or Consulates of the destination country and ports of transit before booking the ticket. It is always best to check ahead of travel dates with the airlines that will be used for departure.

The DFA will strive to update this advisory as needed.

LOOK: List of airports with LGUs that allow commercial flights

As of today, 14 June, there are 23 airports in the country whose Local Government Units (LGUs) have allowed* the commercial operation of flights.

Meanwhile, 9 airports are set to start accepting commercial flights on later dates.

*Some airports, while allowing commercial flights, are subject to different documentary and passenger LGU restrictions.

PAGASA officially declares the start of the rainy season.

According to the state weather bureau, the occurrence of scattered thunderstorms, and the southwest monsoon during the last five days have brought a significant amount of rains over the western sections of Luzon and Visayas.
