Brewing Mastery with Julia Chen

Join us on September 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Little Owl Coffee for a 90-minute coffee brewing experience with Julia Chen, Co-Founder of A-Li Taiwan, Q Grader, and judge for the Taiwan Roasting and Barista Competitions.

Course fee: ₱1,000 per person
Registration deadline: August 30, 2025
Limited to 10–15 participants
Course highlights include premium bean tasting, hands-on brewing practice, an interactive brewing challenge, and professional insights into sensory skills and brewing techniques.

Asa Ta Brew extends its sincere gratitude to Littleowl.ph for creating an avenue for us to share insights on specialty coffee, inspire curiosity, and encourage support for Bukidnon coffee. We also wish to thank Melissa Garces of Finca de Garces for sharing their experiences as coffee farmers and their steadfast commitment to sustaining exceptional coffee quality.

The Coffee Was Good, But We Can't Recommend The Food.

We recently had the chance to visit the newly opened Un&Franc Coffee Bar and tried their Long Shot and Iced Biscoff Latte, and both were excellent. While their pourover coffee wasn’t available during our visit, it was clear that they take pride in serving quality coffee, and that’s something we truly appreciate. 👏

However, we were quite disappointed with the food. The Penne Amatriciana Pasta lacked flavor and depth—it was noticeably bland, with no distinct notes from the tomato sauce or cheese, and it seemed reheated rather than freshly prepared. It was, unfortunately, one of the most underwhelming pasta dishes we've tried.

That said, we’ll definitely come back for the coffee. Perhaps it was just an off day for the kitchen, and we’re hoping for a better experience next time.
