👋🏼 Book your Eco-Adventure with kayakasia Philippines 🛶 Inspired by living in a country of vast archipelagos and countless rivers; we explore, design and guide our own kayak trips while working directly with lo

cal communities in the places where we paddle. We spread the love for our waterways to create a renewed appreciation from the communities that call these places home. We believe that through this collective appreciation will come a deeper understanding which can establish conservation. It is an island we know so intimately in the Philippines.

The Kayakasia team in the wild. 👀

For the past few weeks, the Kayakasia team has been all over the Philippines (well, it feels like it!). 🫶🏽

Here are some photos of where life has taken us the past few weeks, well aside from our home station. We were out and about doing what we love. ♥️

🛶 Outdoors7 Summit
📍 Ayala Center, Cebu

We joined fellow outfitters from Region 7. We always look forward to meeting local businesses like us who also love exploring and nurturing the love for the outdoors (even for kids!). Thank you, DOT7, for bringing us together again.

🛶 Multi-day Trips in Siargao
📍 Isla de las Palmas, Siargao Island

Siargao season was in full-swing. A month long of trips in the Philippines’ surfing haven. Yes, we can create itineraries for multiple days!

Check out .ph to see what that adventure looks and feels like!

🛶 Zoological Society of London (ZSL) - Mangrove and Beach Forest Rehabilitation and Conservation Training of Trainers
📍 Panay Island

One of our guides took part in a workshop with Doc Jurgenne Primavera, a marine scientist who is also passionate about mangrove conservation. They visited and immersed themselves in different eco-parks in Panay Island and learned from their local communities with different kinds of people from across the country who are also learning about mangrove conservation, their ecosystem, and what we can do to nurture and protect it. We’re saving the rest of the stories on a separate post. 🙂

There are so many meaningful ways to experience the Philippines. We are always excited to meet new people and reconnect with old ones. A reminder that we are not alone in our love for outdoor adventures and caring for nature.

Thank you to everyone we got to meet, learn from, exchange stories with, and invite to our home station here in Bohol. We’ll be waiting! 🫶🏽

Hi! We’re seeing new followers, so we’d like to reintroduce ourselves again. 👋🏽Welcome to our online home. Thank you for being here. 🥹

We hope to explore the waters of the Philippines with you. 🇵🇭🫶🏽 We can paddle in the Abatan River while the sun sets. You can plant mangroves with us (again and again!). Or kayak through the night and be mesmerized by our very own glimmers (iykyk), Abatan River’s fireflies. 🛶

Or you can also follow us here online so we can take you with us on our sustainable adventures in different parts of the Philippines. 🙂

Rainbow sighting while paddling. 🌈What a rare treat from the heavens!

One can never run out of firsts when exploring Abatan River, even for our local kayak guides. That’s how it is when out in nature. Leaving us in awe of what it constantly reveals. We’re thrilled that we get to share these experiences with our guests. No gatekeeping here. 🛶

Yes, you can paddle with us this holiday season! Make your Bohol visit meaningful, see you in the waters!

If Mother Nature thinks like us and if we think like Mother Nature, what kind of world will we be living in? 🌳🫶🏽

What kind of Philippines and what kind of Bohol will we be thriving in? 🇵🇭

If our oceans, rivers, mountains, rainforests, mangrove forests and the wildlife that live in them could have a Christmas wish list, what do you think it would be? Check out what’s on our list. 🎁

As someone who loves to explore the outdoors and connects with nature, do you have anything to add to this list?

Looking and reflecting on this, we realized this is a wish list that we can mindfully reflect on as the year ends and carry with us all year round.

How are we becoming kind stewards of the environment? 🫶🏽

POV: Paddle with us under the rain 🌧️

Yes, we kayak rain and/or shine! The changing weather in the trails is also part of the Abatan River experience.

As long as there is no typhoon signal and the water conditions remain calm even with the rain, our outdoor adventure continues! 🛶

What a Saturday in our station looks like… 👇🏽

This was the day when our last River Reboot for the year was, but we had a couple of exciting first-time experiences!

🥹 We had more volunteers coming from Cebu than from Bohol (daghang salamat!!)

🍃 Observing how first-time volunteers react to their natural surroundings is always a treat: amazed, hesitant, curious but over-all grateful for the gift of nature

🛶 Trail unlocked: seeing the century-old mangrove trees found in the open sea. Of course our youngest volunteer cannot help but ask if he can climb them!

🪡 Seeing our team at work! Some of our volunteers have been curious about our Team UP team since we share a lot about our upcycled bags with them. It was cool to let them see this process up close.

Our River Reboot may be over (for the year!) but you can still paddle in our kayaking trails in 2025!

Sun’s out, paddle’s up! But only for a few days this week. 😢

It feels like Typhoon Tino was a lifetime ago but here goes another storm, Uwan.

The devastating news and photos we see online from our neighboring islands, Cebu, Leyte and Negros Occidental, fills our feed. Heartbreaking, frustrating.

We also prepared as much as we can from where we are. We are grateful that our hometown was safe despite the strong winds and torrential rains, and the barangays beside Abatan River are dry and intact (as far as we know at the moment). Special thanks to our mangrove forests! Nature protects us when we protect it.

We closed operations as well to keep everyone safe, both our local kayak guides and guests. Once there’s a typhoon signal or the water conditions are rougher than usual, we hold off kayaking to ensure safety.

To our friends and guests from Visayas and Mindanao affected by Typhoon Tino, we are thinking of you and hoping for your recovery.

Ampo, andam ug amping ta kanunay. 🙏🏽
