AirAsia Philippines, in partnership with the Province of Leyte, officially launched the Tacloban-Leyte Route Story Conference (RSC) on June 27, 2025—a four-day initiative that forms part of its mission to connect more Filipinos to local destinations and position Leyte as a strategic gateway to Eastern Visayas.

Day 1 began with a press conference at the Leyte Provincial Government Complex, where AirAsia reaffirmed its commitment to boosting domestic tourism through purposeful storytelling, strategic partnerships, and immersive experiences. Through this initiative, the Province of Leyte is set to gain meaningful exposure and heightened visibility on both local and national stages.

In attendance were Provincial Officials headed by Governor Carlos Jericho “Icot” Petilla and Leyte Tourism Consultant, Ms Frances Ann Petilla; FO Steve Dailisan, the Head of Communications and Corporate affairs; as well as members of national media and digital content creators, including:

The 3rd Central Philippines Tourism Expo (CPTEx 2025) will take place from June 20 to 22, 2025, in Eastern Visayas, marking the region’s first time to host this prestigious national tourism event.

With the theme “Celebrating Diversity and Shared Culture,” the expo brings together the vibrant tourism offerings of the Central Philippine regions, including CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, and Eastern Visayas. The event aims to showcase the richness of each region while highlighting the shared values that connect us.

The Province of Leyte is proud to be part of this meaningful celebration. We invite all Leyteños and guests to visit our booth (A5), located near Globe and across Ginger Wok, where we will proudly feature locally made products, traditional crafts, and cultural highlights that reflect the creativity and identity of our province.

We especially invite you to attend our Product Presentation on June 20, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, at the Activity Area of the Annex Building (near Bigby’s Café and Restaurant). This presentation will showcase the best of Leyte’s local industries and creative talents.

: The future of travel convenience in Leyte just broke ground!

On June 17, the Department of Tourism, in partnership with TIEZA and the LGU of Inopacan, held the Groundbreaking Ceremony and MOA Signing for the Inopacan Tourist Rest Area, the first-of-its-kind stopover in this rising coastal destination.

This soon-to-rise TRA will offer tourists clean restrooms, a lounge, dining spots, a pasalubong center, and more, making every journey in Leyte more comfortable and meaningful.
