Lake Holon soon🍃

Muling pagbubukas ng Lake Holon at pagpapatuloy ng iba pang aktibidad sa turismo ng bayan ng Tboli, opisyal nang idineklara

Bukas na muli sa publiko at mga turista ang Lake Holon sa bayan ng Tboli, South Cotabato simula kahapon, Lunes, Abril 20, 2026.

Ito ay matapos magpalabas ng Executive Order No. 31 Series of 2026 si Tboli Municipal Mayor, Hon. KEO DAYLE T. TUAN, upang ipawalang bisa ang Executive Order No. 27 Series of 2026, na nag-aatas ng pansamantalang pagsasara ng Lake Holon, at pagpapaliban sa lahat ng mga aktibidad ng turismo sa lugar, kabilang ang mga katulad na aktibidad sa lahat ng tourism destinations na matatagpuan sa bayan.

Ang muling pagbubukas ay dahilan ng sunod-sunod na Security Assessments at Clearing Operation ng PNP (Tboli Municipal Police Station) at AFP (105th Infantry Battalion) sa Lake Holon at sa paligid nito, na itinuring na nilang “generally safe for controlled public access”, simula kahapon.

Dito ay inirekomenda ng dalawang ahensiya, na pahintulutan ang unti-unting pagpapatuloy ng mga aktibidad sa tourism destinations ng Tboli, habang pinapanatili ang naaangkop na hakbang sa seguridad, upang matiyak ang patuloy na kaligtasan ng mga bisita at stakeholder.

Matatandaan, na pansamantalang isinara ang Lake Holon noong Abril 10, 2026, upang matiyak ang kaligtasan at seguridad ng lahat ng nasasakupan, lalo na ang mga turista at bisitang dumarating sa bayan, kaugnay sa nangyaring armadong labanan na naganap noong Abril 9, 2026 sa Sitio Tbul, Barangay Laconon, Tboli, South Cotabato. TBOLI, South Cotabato — Officials have temporarily closed Lake Holon to the public following a deadly encounter between government troops and communist rebels in the municipality’s remote highlands.

Tboli Mayor Keo Dayle Tuan issued Executive Order 27 on Friday, suspending all trekking and tourism activities at the site, often called the “Crown Jewel of the South.”

The closure follows an April 9 gunbattle in Sitio Tbul, Barangay Laconon between the Philippine Army’s 603rd Infantry Brigade and the New People’s Army.

Brig. Gen. Michael Santos, brigade commander, said the clash resulted in the deaths of two rebels, including Anthony Narvasa, a regional party secretary wanted for murder.

Later that evening, a related "miscommunication" at a military checkpoint led to soldiers firing upon a local government vehicle that failed to stop.

The 6th Infantry Division confirmed the incident wounded three Tboli municipal employees and allowed a wounded rebel in custody to escape.

Tourism Officer Argie Amad stated Monday the closure remains in effect until further notice.

Lake Holon, located on Mount Melibengoy, is a protected landscape and was previously recognized as the country’s cleanest inland body of water.
