After months of waiting, we’re delighted to finally share some exciting news!

As we prepare to open another observation hide under the Birdwing family, we’re thrilled to give you a first look.

Here are the very first photographs taken from the new hide, featuring our newest star bird—the iconic white-browed Palawan Peacock-Pheasant (Polyplectron napoleonis). This individual is believed to represent a different variant of the race, making the sighting even more special.

We can’t wait to welcome you soon and share more incredible moments from this exciting new hide. Stay tuned!

Today, we proudly welcome a new Palawan peacock-pheasant hatchling for 2026 at the Birdwing. Chick No. 04 is not just a number—it represents a meaningful milestone in our ongoing commitment to conservation, sustainable tourism and protection of one of the Philippines’ most remarkable endemic species.

This hatchling is a testament to the critical role of the site, which serves as a safe environment where these sensitive birds can breed with minimal disturbance. The site provides invaluable opportunities to observe behavior, mating patterns and preferences—insights that are difficult to gather due to the species’ elusive nature.

For a species threatened by habitat loss and human activity, every chick hatched under protection is a step toward securing its future.
