Shaping Sophia

Shaping Sophia Shaping Sophia brings new holistic views and experiences in fields that support the child and adult in finding and fulfilling their life purpose.

We at Shaping Sophia have been in the thinking and the feeling that there are ways of doing and being a parent, a teacher, a businessman, a farmer, a human being that takes everything as a whole, always striving to add to the good without subtracting on another. By creating the venue and the opportunities to explore this, we open this to other individuals who are asking similar questions in regards with their life purpose and seeking its expression by doing meaningful work in the world.

A TWO-PART WORKSHOP TRAINING AND PARTICIPATIVE THEATER CAMP

FOR PARENTS, SPED TEACHERS, THERAPISTS, AND TEENS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

" Children who do not have the opportunity to crawl will have learning disabilities and social challenges in the future"

The above quote was taught to SPED Teachers from across the country the last time Ms, Becky Rutherford was in the Philippines to give a 2-day Introductory Workshop in Curative Education.

This year, Becky will address the gnawing question of many parents of Children especially Teens who behave very differently and pose some challenges to the parents, teachers, the immediate community and to the child himself or herself and inevitable question of how their love ones will fare in the future.
Becky will also help us navigate through the labyrinth of worries, concerns, fear, and helplessness of confronting the question:
"How will my child be ready for the future when I am not around?"
"What must I do to ready myself and my child of the challenges of the future?"
"How can I equip myself with the knowledge and skills to act and respond and support my child with Special Needs in creative, affirming, dignifying, and honoring way in an ever more challenging world?"

Have the Ability to Master Helping Children with Special Needs and Learning Disability

It is said that to be able to teach the slowest child, the teacher must have the ability to become as slow as that child...to be in the skin of that child and go a step ahead to bring that child a step farther.

A Curative Educator is such a teacher. Be like one!

If you are a teacher or a parent who wishes to gain the ability, the knowledge and the skills to help Children with Special Needs and Learning Difficulties, then...

Join us at the 2-part Training and Workshop on Curative Education and Theater Camp for Special Needs.

ADVENIRE: A SPECIAL TIME FOR SPECIAL NEEDS

The long term goal of these workshops is to empower parents, Educational Support Practitioners, SPED teachers, Therapists to creatively respond to Special Needs and Learning Disabilities and learn Inclusion techniques and practical approaches to learning challenges.

It is also our goal that a Curative Education Certificate Course can be possible for Filipinos who are working with or wish to work with Individuals with Special Needs.

And lastly, that there will be, in the future, a CAMPHILL COMMUNITY in the PHILIPPINES.

Please Watch the video here attached to have an idea of THE CAMPHILL MOVEMENT and CURATIVE EDUCATION.
