A MILESTONE FOR SANTA FE! | MOA Signing with G-Exchange Inc. (GCash)

The Municipality of Santa Fe, Cebu formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement with G-Exchange Inc., also known as GCash, last May 7, 2026 at the Municipal Social Hall!

Led by Mayor Ithamar P. Espinosa and Vice Mayor Mary Greleigh P. Cabrera, together with LGU officials, this signing is a bold and historic leap toward a digitally empowered Santa Fe.

Through this partnership, our community can look forward to:

- Greater financial inclusion — bringing digital banking access to the unbanked and underbanked sectors of Santa Fe
- Stronger MSME growth — equipping vendors and small businesses with GCash QR codes for seamless, cashless transactions
- Expanded Pera Outlet network — transforming sari-sari stores into community financial hubs for Cash-In, Cash-Out, and bills payment
- A more progressive island economy — positioning Santa Fe as a modern, cash-lite destination

What This Means for Tourism in Santa Fe:

This partnership directly elevates the Santa Fe tourism experience. Visitors can now enjoy seamless cashless payments at local accommodations, restaurants, island hopping services and other water activities. Tourism establishments gain access to digital tools that improve business efficiency and guest satisfaction — making Santa Fe not just a primary destination, but a superb one. Our public market vendors, tourism Stakeholders, LGU employees, and local MSMEs gathered for an empowering session on digital payments, mobile finance, and business growth through GCash.

A SUPERB MORNING ON THE SHORES OF SANTA FE

Last May 1, 2026, the LGU Santa Fe proudly presented the 1st Santa Fe Beach Summer Fun Run.

Hundreds of runners from across the Philippines, joined by elite runners from Cebu, gathered at Pooc Marine Adventure as the starting gun echoed along the Santa Fe shoreline.

From the turnaround at the Old Talisay Barangay Hall back to the finish, every stride was a testament to the spirit of Santa Fe, resilient, vibrant and world-class.

This event is more than a race. It is our commitment to wellness, community and sustainable eco-tourism for Santa Fe.

Our sincerest gratitude to Bantayan Island Yoga Community, DITO Telecommunity, sponsors, volunteers, barangay officials and to every participant who made the journey to our island.

Santa Fe is not just a destination. It is a feeling.
