AIRASIA PHILIPPINES TO SUSPEND HONG KONG AND TOKYO NARITA FLIGHTS

AirAsia has announced on its website the suspension of Philippines AirAsia's Manila-Tokyo Narita flights beginning June 1, 2026, and Manila-Hong Kong flights beginning May 9, 2026.

MNL-HKG-MNL 5 weekly flights cancelled effective May 9.
MNL-NRT-MNL 1 daily flight cancelled from June 1, 2026 to Sept. 30, 2026.

According to AirAsia, this is to allow them to review and align their operations.

At the same time, AirAsia Philippines will be suspending Cebu-Iloilo flights for a certain period.

NAIA IMPLEMENTS TERMINAL CHANGES

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport Infra Corp (NNIC) announced terminal reassignments for several airlines starting March 29, 2026, with Air China, China Eastern, Vietnam Airlines, Royal Brunei, and Shenzhen Airlines moving from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3, while Philippine AirAsia (international) and AirAsia Berhad shift from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1.

Japan Airlines will transfer from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 beginning April 1, 2026.

Passengers are advised to verify terminal assignments and use the airport’s biometric check-in system, which includes facial recognition and passport scanning at designated kiosks.
