Seafarer Bids Farewell to Life at Sea After Winning ₱19-Million Lotto Jackpot

A routine lottery ticket turned into a turning point for a Filipino couple after they secured a ₱19-million prize in the 6/42 Lotto draw of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

The husband, a long-time seafarer, and his wife successfully matched the winning numbers 06-32-29-24-37-04, with the prize officially awarded to them earlier this month.

Rather than viewing the win as a ticket to luxury, the couple described it as an opportunity for stability and family time. The seafarer shared that years spent working overseas took him away from important moments at home, and the sudden financial boost allowed him to make a long-considered choice: to stop sailing and settle permanently on land.

He said the decision was driven by a desire for a quieter life and stronger family presence—something he believes money alone cannot replace.

Looking ahead, the couple plans to invest part of their winnings into a modest business venture to ensure long-term income while managing their finances conservatively.
