🌊 HAPPENING NOW: Day 3 of the Marine Assessment at Port Barton Marine Park! 🪸🌿

Community update! We are now on the third day of our intensive study and assessment on the condition of our seagrass beds, mangroves, and coral reefs here at Port Barton Marine Park.⏳

This was made possible through the wonderful spirit of bayanihan and cooperation among various sectors. A huge thank you to DENR-CENRO Roxas under GEM-Project, headed by Sir Chuck Aguilos, for your dedication!

🌿 A VISIT OF HOPE & INNOVATION: DOST-PSTO Palawan Joins Luntian Wonders on Site! 🚀

Today, the future of Port Barton’s circular economy felt closer than ever. We were honored to host DOST - PSTO Palawan Provincial Director Engr. Pacifico T. Sariego III and his dedicated staff for a comprehensive site visit of our proposed "Waste-to-Wonder" Project.

Meeting at the heart of our vision—the site for the Luntian Mangrove Labyrinth, Up-cycled Boardwalk, Floating Market, and Enterprise Hub—Director Sariego shared invaluable insights on how we can turn waste into wealth for our community.

Our Chairperson, Moises David D. Cabungan, together with the Luntian Rangers, stood proud alongside with Luntian Darapiton Agriculture Cooperative (LDAC), led by their Chairperson, Domingo Arsioga Jr.

✨ Key Highlights:

Strategic Vision: Director Sariego listed a range of potential DOST projects that can be integrated into our facility.

Call to Action: The Director has requested Detailed Project Proposals for every project listed—a challenge we are more than ready to meet!

Assurance of Support: We are deeply encouraged by the Director’s commitment and his promise to return and see these "Luntian Projects" flourish.

The day concluded with a warm lunch hosted by the LDAC members, showcasing the true spirit of cooperation that defines our organization. This visit isn't just a meeting; it's a testament to our shared hope of building a Zero-Waste, sustainable Port Barton.

SABAYANG AKSYON: SITIO BUNUANGIN, HINDI NAGPAHULI SA PAGLILINIS! 🌊🌳💚

Kasabay ng ating clean-up drive kahapon, sabay din na kumilos ang ating mga magigiting na Luntian Women at Eco-Warriors (Youth) ng Sitio Bunuangin! Nilinis nila ang kanilang mga baybayin at paligid upang makiisa sa ating malawakang layunin na protektahan ang Port Barton.

Ang Sitio Bunuangin ay mayaman sa kasaysayan, kilala sa mga sagradong talon, at sa mga malalawig na puno ng Bunuang. Nakakaproud makita na ang ating mga nanay at kabataan doon ay patuloy na ginagampanan ang kanilang tungkulin bilang mga tunay na tagapangalaga ng kanilang sagradong paraiso at karagatan.

Isang malaking SALUDO sa inyong dedikasyon at walang-sawang pagmamalasakit! Tunay na ang diwa ng Luntian ay umaabot sa bawat sulok at sitio ng ating Marine Park. 🙌✨

Tuloy-tuloy lang tayo sa paggawa ng tama para sa ating pamana at kalikasan! Kung kaya sa sentro, kaya rin sa mga sitio!

MULA KALSADA HANGGANG DALAMPASIGAN: SAMA-SAMANG AKSYON PARA SA KALIKASAN! 🌊🧹💚

Kahapon, muling pinatunayan ng ating mga Luntian Women at Eco-Warriors (Youth) na walang pinipiling edad ang pagmamalasakit sa ating barangay! Sama-sama nilang nilinis ang ating mga kalsada pababa sa ating beach upang siguraduhing ligtas at malinis ang Port Barton.

Nakakataba ng puso makita ang ating mga matitiyagang nanay at masisipag na kabataan na nagkakaisa. Tandaan natin: Ang basurang pinupulot at nililinis natin sa kalsada ngayon, ay ang basurang inilalayo natin sa ating karagatan at mga koral. 🐢🐠

Isang malaking SALUDO sa lahat ng nag-alay ng kanilang oras at pawis kahapon! Kayo ang tunay na mga lodi at bayani ng ating Marine Park. 🙌✨

Sa mga kababayan at turista natin, let's do our part! Panatilihing malinis ang paligid at itapon nang tama ang ating mga basura. Kung kaya ng mga bata at kababaihan, kaya nating lahat!

SALUDO SA MGA BAGONG "SAVIOR OF THE SEA"! 🌊💙👮‍♀️

Dati rati, sako lang ang bitbit nila habang nagpupulot ng kalat sa dalampasigan. Ngayon, nakatindig na sila nang taas-noo bilang mga opisyal na tagapagtanggol ng karagatan!

Bilang bahagi ng ating makabuluhang National Women’s Month Celebration, matagumpay na isinagawa kahapon ang isang pormal na Training and Oathtaking Ceremony para sa ating Luntian Guardian Force, lalo na para sa ating matatapang na Luntian Women!

Isang napakalaking pasasalamat sa 2nd Special Operations Unit-Maritime Group (2nd SOU-MG) sa inyong tiwala at dedikasyon na sanayin at bigyang-kapangyarihan ang ating mga kababaihan. Dahil sa inyo, sila ngayon ay opisyal nang kinikilala bilang mga "Bayani ng Dagat" (Savior of the Sea)! ⚓✨

Pinapatunayan lang ng mga Luntian Women na ang kamay na nag-aaruga sa pamilya ay siya ring kamay na kayang lumaban at magtanggol sa ating Port Barton Marine Park.

🛑 "Bata ka lang, huwag kang makialam!" 🛑 Ito ba ang isasagot niyo kapag pinuna namin ang maling nakasanayan?

Araw-araw, nakikita ng ating mga Luntian Eco-Warriors ang mga nakatatanda na nagtatapon ng basura kung saan-saan. Nakaporma, may negosyo, may pinag-aralan, pero pagdating sa kalikasan—walang disiplina. Tinuturo sa eskwela na dapat malinis, pero pagtingin sa labas, mismong mga matatanda pa ang nag-iiwan ng kalat.

Para sa mga kabataang napapagod na sa sirang sistema at maling ehemplo, ang kantang ito ay para sa inyo! 🎸🔥

🌿 Empowering the Luntian Women through the Green Economy! 💚

Earlier today, the Luntian Women of Port Barton had an incredibly inspiring and productive consultative meeting with the team from DENR-CENRO Roxas Palawan! 🌊✨

They introduced us to the Green Economy Model (GEM)—a game-changing approach that balances economic growth with environmental protection. We learned how to transition from traditional regulatory compliance to exciting developmental opportunities, effectively turning our environmental responsibility into sustainable livelihoods! ♻️💡

A major highlight of our discussion focused on tackling our community's solid waste situation by establishing a Solid Waste Recovery Facility (SWRF) Enterprise. We explored amazing waste reduction activities—like upcycling plastics into beautiful crafts, producing compost, and trading recyclables. It's all about turning "waste into wealth" while protecting the pristine natural capital of Palawan. 🌍🛍️

As the newly established Luntian Wonders Organization Inc., this perfectly aligns with our mission to design community-based enterprises that support the livelihoods of our local women, youth, and fisherfolk. This partnership with DENR is a huge step forward in building a circular economy and ensuring long-term ecological and social benefits for Port Barton.

When our Luntian Women aren't busy saving the marine park, they are out here celebrating sisterhood!

Yesterday, March 15, Sir Peter—owner of Hotel Oasis Port Barton and one of the Luntian Founders—hosted a fantastic National Women's Month celebration at the Hotel Oasis Bar!

To honor our hardworking Luntian Women, he treated them to a well-deserved break, alongside an all-day 'Buy 1, Take 1' cocktail special for all the ladies in attendance. It was a wonderful day of appreciation and celebration! 🥂✨

Thank you, Sir Peter, for always taking care of our Luntian Eco-Guardians and showing how much you value the women of our community.

"Bakit po sila tumatalikod? Kakalinis lang natin ah, bakit po tinapon ulit?" 💔🌊

Nakakadurog ng puso kapag ang isang inosenteng bata na ang nagtatanong, at wala kang maisagot.

Sa ating weekly coastal clean-up ngayong araw, pawisang pinulot ng mga Luntian Women at Eco-Warriors ang mga kalat sa ating dalampasigan. May ilang ngumiti at nagpasalamat, pero ang masakit... mas marami ang umiwas ng tingin at tinalikuran ang mga batang naglilinis.

Ang mas nakakadismaya? Pabalik na kami sa daang nilinis namin, nang madatnan namin ang isang sakong bagong kalat mula sa isang island tour—sariwa at hindi man lang inihiwalay.

Para sa ating mga kababayan na araw-araw kumikita dahil sa ganda ng Port Barton Marine Park —bangkero, tour guide, negosyante—tayo dapat ang unang nagpoprotekta nito. Kung tatalikuran natin ang sarili nating kalat, anong mukha ang ihaharap natin sa mga batang sumasalo ng ating kapabayaan?

Ang kantang ito, "Tanong ng mga Bata", ay isinulat mula sa totoong kaganapang ito. Pakinggan natin ang kanilang boses.

Sana, sa susunod na maglinis ang mga bata, hindi na sila magtanong kung bakit sila iniiwan. Sana sa susunod, kasama na natin kayong humaharap sa problema. 🌱💚

🌊 Have you ever wondered how Luntian Wonders started? It all began under the sea! 🤿💙

Long before the BANGKEROS, the eco-cages, and the massive coastal clean-ups, there was a small, dedicated group of divers who couldn't ignore the trash threatening our beautiful reefs. They became the very first Luntian ScubaSureros (Scuba + Basurero).

While most people only saw the beautiful surface of Port Barton Marine Park, these underwater heroes were busy diving deep, voluntarily collecting trash sack by sack to save our corals and marine life. 🐠🪸

What started as a quiet, selfless mission beneath the waves sparked a massive community revolution. The dedication of the ScubaSureros inspired the mothers, the youth, the fisherfolks, the Farmers and the boatmen, eventually giving birth to the entire Luntian Wonders Organization we know and love today! 🌱✨

We are officially a movement, but we will never forget our roots. To our original ScubaSureros who paved the way—thank you!
