For the safety and protection of all hikers, organizers, residents, motorists, and visitors, the Municipality of Kayapa announces the TEMPORARY CLOSURE of the Mt. Tugew/Alang-Salacsac (Kayapa) Quadpeak effective today, May 19, 2026 until May 24, 2026.
This is due to the unstable and hazardous condition of the JunctionβKayapa Proper Road, particularly along the Oyawe Section, affecting access to Kayapa Proper East, Kayapa Proper West, Cabalatan Alang and Alang Salacsac.
Continuous road instability and possible landslides pose serious risks to travel and trekking activities. In view of this, ALL hiking activities, tours, and related travel to the affected areas are STRICTLY SUSPENDED during the said period.
Local residents are likewise strongly advised to exercise EXTREME PRECAUTION when traveling along the affected road sections. Avoid unnecessary travel and remain alert for possible road collapse, landslides, falling debris, and other hazards, especially during periods of rain.
We strongly urge everyone to prioritize safety and strictly comply with this advisory. Please refrain from attempting to enter the area until conditions are declared safe by the concerned authorities.
