Agram Gaz is dying a slow death and we refuse to watch in silence.
Nestled in the heart of Arkari Valley, Agram Gaz meadows are among the most breathtaking landscapes northern Pakistan has to offer — untouched peaks, golden grasslands, and a silence that heals. But every summer, that silence is broken by crowds of visitors and festival goers who leave behind mountains of plastic, waste, and disregard.

This isn't tourism. This is slow destruction.
Team Shabdaraz walked through Agram Gaz in our recent expedition in lower chitral not just to admire it, but to fight for it — picking up what careless hands left behind, one bag at a time. We did what we could with what we had. But this can't just be on us, and it can't just be a one-time clean-up.

We're calling on the government and local authorities: install proper waste disposal systems in Agram Gaz. Enforce rules for campers and festival organizers. Protect this land before it's too late.

Because a place this beautiful deserves more than temporary visitors and permanent damage. Our children deserve to see what we saw; not a graveyard of plastic where a meadow used to be.
Agram Gaz is not a dumping ground. It's a legacy. Let's treat it like one.

We have successfully concluded our annual expedition across the Lower Chitral region, conducted in three sections.
The first section took us from the Tushi Conservation Area to Parsan.
The second section connected Karimabad to the Arkari Valley via the formidable Gochar Nail Pass at an elevation of 5,127 metres — a pass that, to the best of our knowledge, had never previously been crossed by an expedition team.

The final section, from Arkari to Gobor via Sad Qulachi Aan, unfortunately could not be undertaken due to the deteriorating law-and-order situation in the vicinity of Dorah Pass.

Overall, the expedition was a great success, and we are grateful to everyone who contributed to making it possible.

However, two tragic events took place during the expedition that deserve to be acknowledged.

The first was the Broad Peak tragedy, which claimed the lives of 10 people, including some of the finest climbers of our time. Team Shabdaraz pays its deepest tribute to these legendary mountaineers and extends our heartfelt condolences to their families and loved ones.

The second was the devastating flooding across different areas of Lower Chitral, which caused significant damage to homes, roads, infrastructure, and agricultural land. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this disaster.
Despite these challenges, the expedition strengthened our commitment to exploring, documenting, and promoting the remarkable mountains, valleys, and routes of Chitral.
