Skiing in Shimshal started in 2008
A total of 20 people participated in the ski training under the leadership of Instructor Mirza Amin, He is a very experienced skier and retired from Pakistan Army who gave ski training to the youth of Shimshal for the first time, before that in 2000 Qudrat Ali, Shaheen Baig and Ali Musa first organized a successful ski expedition called Shimshal Winter Ski Expedition. After them in 2004, Qudrat Ali Shah started skiing from Khizrabad Road to Sh*th. After that training, Naimat bro and Mansoor Bro continued this field and in winter when there was no snow in Shimshal, they used to travel to remote areas to practice skiing. Shimshal Pass, Zaratgorbin and Lopghar are especially prominent. Similarly, there are many places in Shimshal which are very popular areas for skiing, but among all of them, Zartgorban is very popular. .
Mansoor, Niamat and Aziz continued their professional career under their support in 2012 and represented Gilgit-Baltistan team in the Shah Khan Memorial Championship and won the Shah Khan Memorial Championship trophy.
In July 2013, both brothers (Mansoor and Niamat) organized a mountain ski expedition in Shimshal Pass, which was a very dangerous and difficult sport, but with the grace of Allah Ta'ala and the blessings of parents' prayers, they succeeded. 6000 meters high consisted of 4 Peaks. Among them, Manglig Sar, Qul Pek Quza sar and an unclimbed pack. And for the first time in the history of Pakistan, two brothers set a world record by skiing down 4 mountains in 7 days and made the country Pakistan and their region famous. Such a performance was not performed before.
In the same way, despite the lack of equipment, he continued to give ski training to the youth (women and men) in the village while continuing his profession.
In 2016, AKYSB and Pakistan Youth Outreach organized ski training at Pakistan level in Shimshal the participants are from different cities of Pakistan (Karachi, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Ghizir, and Hunza) participated in this training. .
In the same way, in 2017 and 2018, Pakistan Youth Outreach held a ski training for the youth in Zarathgorabin, in which Mansoor also gave a training instructor.
Mansoor worked for Pakistan Youth Outreach as an unpaid instructor for about 5 years.
AKYSB organized the Diamond Jubilee Ski Championship in Naltar in 2018 and won the gold medal as part of the Hunza team.
Similarly, as an instructor, Mansoor went to Chitral for ski training with Pakistan Youth Outreach in 2019 and gave training to the youth there and also got the opportunity to go to Malamjaba and Shokhran.
Similarly, on September 2020, professionals associated with the field of mountaineering (Abdul Joshi, Niamat Karim, Hidayat Shah, Eid Muhammad, Sultan Ayub, Mansoor Karim, Faryad Karim) agreed to go to Chappursan for a picnic and took advantage of the opportunity of their picnic. the did a small rock climbing trip. After the closing ceremony , AKYSB Chairman speech on behalf of Chipursan community requested to our team in his words of thanks that you have Two brothers are talented ski masters and we have a special request to them to give our children ski training and give us an opportunity to thank them. Because the people of Shimshal have made the name of Pakistan bright in the field of mountaineering and skiing from Gojal to Gilgit-Baltistan and from Chitral to Karachi.
So we as a team accepted their requests and promised to keep ski training in Chiporsan for 5 years and Alhamdulillah are devoting their service to Chappursan Jamaat till today.
This year also, Mansoor gave ski training from January 20 to January 27 in Chippursan. And this year some of his team members could not attend the training due to some unknown circumstances
