One Russian Climber Missing, Two Injured on Gasherbrum IV Amid Avalanche
Skardu: Tragedy struck on the challenging slopes of Gasherbrum IV, as a Russian climbing expedition encountered an avalanche, leaving one climber missing and two others injured.
According to latest reports, Sergei Nilov, a Russian national, is missing following the avalanche.
The incident occurred at approximately 6,400 meters, where two other Russian climbers, Mikhail Mironov and Mr. Sergei Mironov, were injured.
Meanwhile, two other members of the expedition, Alexy Bautin and Mr. Evgenii Iablokov, were successfully evacuated to Skardu by helicopter. Both climbers, also from Russia, are reported to be in stable condition.
Gasherbrum IV, known for its challenging terrain and unpredictable weather, has claimed numerous lives over the years, making it one of the most dangerous peaks in the world.
