After a gap of 14 years, the first direct flight from Dhaka has landed at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, restoring nonstop air connectivity between Bangladesh and Pakistan. The service is being operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines and marks a significant step toward improving bilateral engagement.
The route is expected to enhance travel convenience, strengthen trade links, support tourism, and promote people-to-people connections between the two countries. Initially, the Dhaka–Karachi service will operate twice weekly during the current year, with potential for expansion based on demand.
Officials and industry observers say the restoration of direct flights reflects renewed momentum in regional connectivity and economic cooperation.
