The Mahandri Bridge in the Kaghan Valley is currently a single-lane bridge, which causes congestion and safety issues, especially during peak tourist seasons and holidays like Eid. To address this issue, the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) is installing a new, wider bridge at Mahandri.

- The single-lane bridge forces traffic to alternate sides, leading to congestion and delays.
- During peak seasons, this can cause significant traffic jams and safety risks.

*Solution:*

- The FWO is installing a new, double-lane bridge at Mahandri to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion.

- Reduced congestion and travel time during peak seasons and holidays.

- Enhanced infrastructure to support the growing tourism industry in the Kaghan Valley.

*Road Closure and Power Outage:*

- As mentioned earlier, the road will be closed from June 2, 2025, to June 4, 2025, for the bridge installation.
- The 11 KV Kaghan Valley Feeder will be shut down from 8 am to 10 pm during these dates as a precautionary measure.

*Context:*

- The Mahandri Bridge has been a critical point of concern in the past, having been washed away by heavy rains in July 2024, which stranded thousands of tourists in the Kaghan Valley.
- The FWO and Pakistan Army have previously collaborated on reconstruction efforts, highlighting their commitment to restoring vital infrastructure.
