The dilapidated state of the Picture Wall, can be seen in the photographs. Most of our locals are unaware of the site’s significance and will fail to realize what they have lost once it goes towards a condition where it cannot be taken care of anymore. The Picture Wall is the main reason of the inclusion of the Lahore Fort in the list of UNESCO’s World Heritage sites. The wall runs from the Elephant (Hathi) Gate to Jahangir’s Quadrangle of Lahore Fort stretching to a great 1450 feet and an average height of 56 feet.
