The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) – the national flag carrier – on Friday announced it is reducing domestic flight fares with effect from Saturday (today).

According to an official spokesperson, the PIA has reduced its fares for flights from Lahore to Karachi to Islamabad and Lahore.

“The one-way fare for Lahore-Islamabad has been fixed at Rs 7,879. Only hand-carry hand luggage will be allowed for the passengers availing the discounted facility,” the spokesperson said.

Europe to Extend PIA Flight Ban After Rejecting PIA’s Appeal

The European Air Safety Agency (EASA) has rejected Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) appeal for the resumption of flights. Instead, the agency is considering extending the ban until December 31, 2020.

EASA, however, assured the national airline that the extension in the ban will be reversed if the country’s civil aviation authority takes concrete measures for flight safety.

The European flight safety authority had banned all PIA flights from entering the European airspace for six-month, starting from July 1. The United Kingdom and the USA followed suit and imposed similar bans on the national flag carrier over flight safety concerns.

These sanctions came after the inquiry report of PIA flight 8303 was released. The report blamed the Captain’s error for the fatal accident that killed 97 people on board.

Please note the latest update on new restrictions for COVID-19 guidelines for residence return to AUH, please note that the effective date is from 24th July.
All requirements will remain the same which is as the following:

1) ICA approval.
2) Passenger need negative PCR test result from approved labs validity for 72 hours before departure to AUH. List of approved labs listed on the website ( screening.purehealth.ae) , before arriving to AUH from their origin destination or connecting via your destination to AUH.

3) Children below 12 years and infants need negative PCR test result before traveling to AUH.
