Aamir Khan of Pakistan has clinched the gold medal at the 7th Heroes Taekwondo Championship, held in Bangkok, Thailand. Representing Pakistan, Khan triumphed over competitors from India, Nepal, and the Philippines to secure the top spot. Hailing from Mingora, Swat, Aamir Khan dedicated his victory to the people of his hometown, expressing deep gratitude for the unwavering support from his coaches, family, and friends. In an emotional statement, he expressed pride in bringing honor to his country and his beloved Swat.
The 7th Heroes Taekwondo International Championship took place from August 10 to 12 at Assumption University in Bangkok. Khanβs achievement adds to Pakistanβs recent successes in the sports arena, coming shortly after Arshad Nadeemβs record-breaking performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics. In another sporting highlight, Pakistan's Under-15 youth football team has secured a place in the final of the Norway Cup 2024, following an impressive 3-0 victory against Norwayβs Varegg Football in Oslo. Competing under the banner "Better Future Pakistan," the young squad showcased exceptional talent and determination, scoring 26 goals while conceding only five throughout the tournament.
