According to Nepal traveling community Mountain Guide Waqar of Shimshal along with Sono Sherpa of Nepal was among the first to recover 2 bodies from the avalanche side on broad peak near camp-1 . These brave guys have also recovered a half body (legs) at the same day which wasn't identified.

2nd day waqar and his team members leaving their k2 summit push to join the rescue . together they had rescued another body of a Sherpa climber from the site .

These guys who were deeply involved in the rescue remains unsung .

Shimshali Mountaineer Shah Doulat Summits Gasherbrum I

Shah Doulat, hailing from Shimshal village in Hunza, reached the summit of Gasherbrum I (8,080 m) at 11:00 AM today, July 20, 2025. This ascent of the world’s 11th highest peak adds yet another formidable achievement to his résumé of eight‑thousander successes.

Gasherbrum I is renowned for its technical complexity and brutal Karakoram weather. Having already summited K2, Nanga Parbat and Gasherbrum II, Shah’s latest triumph underscores his exceptional high‑altitude expertise and unwavering determination.

Shah will attempt Broad Peak next week.
