Jashn-e-Maifang (جشنِ مئیفنگ) is a traditional festival of Baltistan, especially celebrated in Skardu and nearby villages.

The festival reflects gratitude for nature, unity of the community, and hope for good crops.

21 December is the winter solstice (the shortest day and longest night).
• In Balti tradition, this day marks the turning point of winter.
• After this date, days slowly start getting longer, which symbolically means:
• ❄️ Winter begins to weaken
• 🌱 Life and agriculture will eventually return
• 🌞 Light overcomes darkness
