Did you know that a dragon once lived on Wawel Hill? According to the legend, the dragon lived in a cave under the castle and terrorized the people of Krakow until one day, a clever shoemaker named Skuba tricked him by giving him a sheep filled with sulfur. After the dragon drank water from the Vistula River, he burst from the excess water, freeing the city from fear!

Today, the Wawel Dragon is one of the symbols of Krakow, and its statue proudly stands by the riverbank, breathing fire every few minutes 🔥 It's a must-see spot during your walk around the city!

Built in 1893, it is a perfect example of eclectic style, combining elements of Baroque and Renaissance architecture. The richly decorated façade, full of sculptures and ornaments, gives it a monumental character.
