And then it was time for Friday, the last day that we could fully devote to getting to know Tel Aviv 🇮🇱 ! In order not to lose the day, we set off to explore the city. We were planning to see several locations that you should also see when visiting Israel. We started with a walk at the Carmel Market, which is a vibrant marketplace where traders sell everything from clothing to spices. The hustle and bustle, vibrant noise, colors and smells - that's it! Observation of people looking for ingredients for the Shabbat dinner and their behavior has brought the culture of the Israeli society even closer to us.
Then, we went to the nearby beach from the market, which again surprised us positively. Golden sand, bright blue water and plenty of people who enjoyed the day off with their loved ones. We decided that this is a good time to get some sun and finally to sunbathe (unfortunately, the tough schedule of previous days did not let us do it).
Firmly sun-dried, we headed for Old Jaffa, the southern and oldest part of Tel Aviv 🇮🇱 , which is an ancient port city in Israel. Narrow alleys, historic buildings and a beautiful view stretching from the hill. And this unique culture in which Jewish and Arabic culture is intertwined.
Enchanted by the Old Town, we went to the Hostel to prepare for the Shabbat dinner, for which we were invited by Yechiel Shulz, his sister Dorit Vexler and their whole family. You can probably know this two from their last year's visit to Poznań. It was all the more pleasing that we were able to meet them again, but this time in Tel Aviv. Stunned with hospitality and homely atmosphere, we started with a traditional Shabbat song, then Mr. Yechiel and Mrs. Dorit gave thanks and expressions of joy at the opportunity to meet Polish students, and we repaid them in the same way. We talked throughout the evening, exchanged views on Poland and Israel, with lots of laughter, fun and positive emotions (even Polish songs were sung). It was also a great opportunity to get to know many traditional Israeli dishes and Shabbat traditions. It was a great culmination of this trip, which we will remember for a very long time. Like the skin going down due to excess sun and the desire to get her mahogany color.
On the occasion of this post we would like to thank our great hosts - the Shulz family. 👨👩👧👦 Without you this trip could not take place.
