The wild swarm who moved into the house
prepared for them in our mighty beech. For two weeks we watched them, our thousand-fold new friends, gathering pollen for their queen. Memorising the richest nectar spots. And then it was time for them to move into the permanent hive Mark built them. In the shade of the beech, the amelanchier & the wild rose. Capped honey, sealed brood cells ~ these wildlings are strong!
And so begins the adventure in natural, treatment-free beekeeping in horizontal hives 🐝 🍯 🌺🍃
