Proud to present a spec I shot for Virgin Galactic. This project happened a few years ago, and unfortunately the crash of Knight 1 put the project on indefinite hold. It was finally released.

Safety Diver:
Shot over 10 days in Puerto Rico, a Sound stage amongst other locations.
The additional photography of the child and couple in the field was shot by Jonathan Schmidt.
A mix of CG enhanced space Stock footage from Virgin, and the amazing work of VFX Artist Perry Kroll, really brought this to life.

The Main spaceship shots were a combination of practical wire work in a vertical set to create effect of weightlessness, and a giant rear projection screen to help create the ambience of earth light. A 10K was set up on a rolling stand, hand operated by the Grip/Electric Crew in a semi circular path, countering the camera moves to give the impression the ship is rotating in space.
The underwater sequences were shot in Arecibo Puerto Rico, Chris Aran, operating the whole of the project. Chris, Heroically shot the diving shot, hand holding a camera and jumping into the ocean off a cliff with the main Talent Kyle Paul. .
