🤩The Mira de Aire Caves, located in Portugal, 🇵🇹 are one of the country's most remarkable natural attractions.

📍Situated near the town of Alvados in the Leiria region, these caves are known for their stunning formations of stalactites and stalagmites, as well as their extensive underground galleries.

Discovered in 1947 and opened to the public in 1974, the caves stretch over approximately 11 kilometers, although only a portion is accessible for guided tours. Visitors can explore the fascinating rock formations, learn about the geological history of the caves, and appreciate the unique ecosystem that thrives in this subterranean environment.

The caves also feature a variety of chambers, some of which are adorned with impressive natural sculptures and formations. If you have the chance to visit, the Mira de Aire Caves offer a captivating glimpse into the beauty and complexity of nature.

Cristo de Rei - Almada

This is one of my favourite places to visit in Portugal. Entertaining for all the family with it’s breathtaking views of Lisbon and the 25 de Abril bridge.

During High seasons don’t be put off by the often long queue at the base of the monument. This moves fairly quickly and is definitely worth the wait.
This queue leads you to the ticket machine and lift. There is a very narrow winding staircase that completes your journey to the top of the monument and it’s 360 views.

Even if you can’t make it to the top you can still enjoy the views and grounds around the monument.

Rockalot - Urban Park - Setubal

A lovely spot to enjoy a cup of coffee. Also serves food and cocktails. Located along the beach side it get very busy in the summer but it’s worth waiting for a table. Beautiful views with reasonable prices.
