Beyond Espresso! ☕

The Portuguese ‘Patelarias’ or Cafes are an experience in itself, and ordering coffee is a whole new world, even in this heat!

Here's your cheat sheet to the wonderful world of Portuguese coffee:

☕‘Um Café’: This is the standard, strong espresso.
☕’Um Abatanado’: Think of this as Portugal's version of an Americano – a longer,
diluted espresso, perfect for savoring.
☕’Um Garoto’: A delightful small espresso with a splash of milk, often served in a demitasse cup.
☕’Um Galão’: Served in a tall glass, a galão is a larger, milkier coffee, with about three-quarters milk and one-quarter coffee. It's often compared to a latte macchiato.
☕’Um Pingado’: An espresso "pingado" (dripped) is made with a tiny bit of cold milk.
