Olá !! ........ Welcome to Casa Jackson Sleeps 6 (sorry no single groups of men or ladies or stag / hen parties!)

In 2002, we were lucky enough to stay at a friend’s villa in Portugal and he introduced us to the beautiful village of Carvoeiro on the Algarve. From that very first stay we fell in love with the place and have holidayed there every year since and dreamt that one day we would have a place of our very own!

....... fast forward 15 years and that dream came true for us in January 2018 :) We are absolutely delighted with our new holiday home and we still have to keep pinching ourselves, as we cant believe our dream has actually come true :)

Our property is a large, roomy town house that forms part of a small condominium of just 5 houses in total, located in a lovely, upmarket, residential area of spacious villas and town houses on the way into the main part of the village; its 15 mins walk from our house to the main square & beautiful, intimate coved beach where you’ll find a variety of shops, bars, and restaurants. It caters for a maximum of 6 people very comfortably (unless by prior arrangement) and has a pool shared with only the 4 other houses in the condominium, which is only 25 meters away. It also has a shared baby toddlers pool too.

We have spent a year renovating it, and we’re delighted with the outcome. Here is some information below :

SPECIFICATIONS: 3 bed, 3 bathroom townhouse: with 2 double bedrooms and a twin bedroom (2 single beds that can be pushed together to make a double bed) plus double sofa bed in master bedroom and 2 single sofa beds in other 2 bedrooms for children. Carry cots can also be provided.

There is a double room & twin room upstairs both with en-suite bathrooms with a third double bedroom and bathroom downstairs ideal when accommodating two families.

The house is in a small and very well maintained condominium with only 4 other houses with a shared pool which is only about 25 meters away from the house. The lounge / dining room has two sofa’s and single seater chair, 2 large pouffets, log fire for the cooler winter months, large screen TV and a formal 6 seater dining table.

The Kitchen also has a 6 seater breakfast table, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave fridge freezer, coffeemaker, plus all the usual expected facilities.

There is good internet and Wifi coverage throughout with large ‘Smart TV's’ in each bedroom & lounge providing access to Netflix, Amazon Prime & You Tube with the Lounge and Master Bedroom also providing a full range of UK Sky and BT channels. The kitchen and Master bedroom also have Internet radio’s with a comprehensive range of UK stations, Spotify and local radio.

Outside enjoys great space to sunbathe and relax with a private grassed garden area for sunbathing with 4 sun loungers and large cantilever umbrella, plus a roof terrace with sea views for some further privacy. Additionally the master bedroom affords a good size private terrace with a small bistro table and 2 chairs plus 2 sun loungers and umbrella.

There is a large private patio area from the kitchen with a built-in BBQ and 8 seater dining table, chairs and umbrella suitably enclosed and private with subtle modern lighting to the outside of the property and entire outside space.

House has air conditioning [heating and cooling] in the bedrooms and lounge, is fully alarmed and has a safe. Is is located in a cul-de-sac so is really safe and has plenty of parking space.

Maid service can be provided

Our weeks will generally be Saturday to Saturday, although we’ll accommodate as best we can.

ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS:

Children of all ages are always looking for the next activity and things to do and in and around Carvoeiro there are lots of options to keep children from toddlers to teens entertained. We have provided a list of below activities for kids in Carvoeiro and the local area with a mixture of ideas to suit both you younger and older children and top meet every budget.

Beaches, water-parks, play / picnic parks, small zoo, the fabulous Zoomarine, tennis club, gym, adventure / climbing playground, horseriding, go-carting track, caves, boat trips

There is an information kiosk right in the village square who are extremely helpful and will give you further info on all of the above.

GENERAL:

In our opinion, the resort is really suited for families, and the over 30's. I think its probably a bit quiet for the 18 - 30 market!! ;)

BARS & RESTAURANTS: There are SO MANY beautiful restaurants and bars and they cater from Pizzerias to a Michelin Star restaurant, and literally everything in between. All the restaurants are extremely child-friendly and I can honestly say that we’ve never had a bad meal anywhere there yet! The village is renowned for its restaurants.

GOLF: The Algarve is a golfers paradise and we have great courses on our doorstep! Namely: Vale de Milho, Quinta do Gramacho, Vale de Pinta

Villamoura is approx. 25 miles away, there are plenty of renowned golf courses there too.

SHOPS: there are the usual souvenir shops, but there are some lovely shops for clothes, all holiday essentials: hats, flip flops, suncream etc jewellery, art, hairdressers, literally all kinds of different shops.

With regards to supermarkets, you can get small mini markets in a 5 - 10 min walk on the way into the village, but if you want to do a 'big shop' in the large supermarkets, they are a 5 min drive away; there is an Aldi, an Asda equivalent and a Marks & Spencer's equivalent, so again caters for all budgets.

We're still learning ourselves but I do know that there are 3 airlines that go to faro airport (it's 45 mins from the airport to our house and we can arrange transfers to and from airport for you from a very reputable company we've used for years or advise you on which car rental to use). Airlines: Jet2, EasyJet & Ryanair ( The longer you leave to book, obviously the more it costs (we learnt the hard way!!)
