Last week, we had the pleasure of spending time with the students and team at in Locarno, our long-term partner ATO.
The visit provided a great opportunity to meet face-to-face with our Mentored ATPL Programme students, conduct individual check-ins including mock-interviews, and host a two-hour workshop focused on career progression and airline recruitment.
During the workshop, we explored what airlines are really looking for during interviews and assessments. One of the most important messages we shared is that a pilot licence is not a passport to a job. It is a significant milestone, but securing an airline position requires a strategy, a support structure, and a clear understanding of what employers are looking for.
Airlines are seeking dependable, professional individuals who can safely and efficiently operate their aircraft, work effectively within a team, and represent their brand. Technical capability gets you into the process; demonstrating the right competencies and mindset helps you stand out.
A big thank you to AELO Swiss Academy for the warm welcome and the engagement from the students throughout the day. We look forward to following their progress as they take the next steps in their aviation careers.
