To be fair, Praia Formosa in Madeira is also really nice and worth a stop (although not a hidden gem like this one 🙃). Either way - enjoy!

This week I hiked in 28°C with a waterfall swim, 13°C in the rain and mud in Fanal, and around 10°C at a cold and windy Pico do Arieiro sunrise. Madeira weather in a nutshell 😅 Especially going into winter, these are a few things I always keep in my car:
Rain jacket + warm layer: mountain weather can be VERY different from the coast.
Beanie + gloves: a lifesaver for cold and windy mornings.
Dry socks + a spare shirt: because getting back into the car wet and muddy is no fun.
Sunscreen + sunglasses: still essentials, even in winter.
Swimsuit + small towel: you never know when there’s an opportunity for a swim.
Water + snacks: I keep mine in a little cooler bag so they don’t cook in the car while I’m out.

Basically, don’t be scared to turn your car into a second closet on Madeira. You’ll probably need all of it at some point 😂
