Praia de Odeceixe, on the western Algarve coastline is one of only two beaches in the Algarve that were voted by the public as one of Portugal's Seven Beach wonders!

It's a little bit out of the way, but when you get there you'll find an incredible beach - and a cute seaside village. On the north side of the beach you'll find the Seixe river that forms the natural border between the Algarve and the Alentejo region to the north of it. This gives the beach some pretty unique characteristics, a calm river side, and an Atlantic coastal side.

Burgau is one of those places I often return to. It's a former fishing village based around a beautiful bay in the West Algarve. Unlike the busier resort towns, Burgau keeps things more on the low-key and laid back side of things. You’ll find yourself wandering through a labyrinth of narrow, whitewashed alleys, many inaccessible to vehicles, that all spill out onto an impressive sandy cove. In those alleys, there's some great local bars, coffee shops, and even some restaurants.

Head up along the cliffs, and you'll be able to walk to Praia da Luz, and Salema, and even discover some secret beaches!

Faro is so much more than just an arrival airport - and you really should take the time to explore it! ✈️

For many visitors, Faro is simply where they land before heading straight to the Algarve’s beaches, resorts, and better-known destinations. But give the city a chance and you’ll find a beautiful old town, unique sights, historic streets, leafy squares, great food, and the incredible Ria Formosa right on its doorstep.

Even with just a morning or afternoon, you can wander through the impressive Arco da Vila, explore the Cidade Velha, visit the Cathedral and climb its tower for panoramic views, or discover the Museu Municipal de Faro, housed in a former convent and filled with fascinating glimpses into the region’s long history.
