Two Restless Homebodies

Well, the flights and hotel are booked, and we couldn’t be more excited to enjoy this amazing view of Lisbon AGAIN in November! 😍🇵🇹

One of Lisbon’s most prevalent charms is on the facade of almost every building: beautiful, vibrant tiles in all sorts of vivid colors and designs. If you venture into the Alfama district, like we did here, you’ll find splashes of color around almost every corner!

Quite possibly the tastiest part of our trip so far! Anyone recognize what these little boxes hold? 🤔

Olá querido Lisboa 😘 We’re so excited to be here!

We spent part of our first afternoon exploring the iconic Praça do Comércio, browsing tables set up by local artisans and enjoying the architecture and bright, sunny day. Couldn’t resist this photo when one of the city’s legendary trams pulled up!

And then we got back to the hotel and crashed. We don’t deal with jet lag as well as we used to 😅

Which one are you? 😂

Would you believe the forecast today called for thunderstorms?! Guess no one can rain on our parade 😊🌴 Enjoying our last night in the Outer Banks - including this patio view and a drool-worthy dinner with delicious cocktails at - before we head back to reality tomorrow 😩

I can safely say this would intrigue us both into stepping inside for a cuppa 😂

Would you walk inside? 😏

Spent today trying out our new at , watching the pelicans diving and (unfortunately) seeing some of the season’s first jellyfish coming in. Even caught sight of a big stingray just outside the shallows, but it was too fast for a picture. Too bad the heat index was 108F! 🥵 stay hydrated and remember to y’all! @ Cape Hatteras National Seashore

We know we’ve been super quiet over the last several months. Some have continued to thrive in quarantine... and some, like us, have found some very real and very human challenges. Our sweet little furbaby, William, left us this summer, we’ve had more than one family emergency, and we’re exhausted from work and all the insanity in the news.

So, as a treat to ourselves, we’ve both taken a week off of work (encouraged to do so by both of our managers, I might add!) and drove down to an Airbnb in North Carolina’s Outer Banks. This is our host’s completely idyllic backyard, which we’ve already enjoyed... after disinfecting the room, the chairs, and everything else we could get our Lysol wipes on 😷

Traveling in the time of COVID frankly kinda sucks, largely because so many people seem to ~forget~ to and that is a thing 😩 But so far, we’ve stuck to less crowded beaches and early meals at outdoor, distanced restaurants. Now we just need to remember how to relax...... 😂😭
