Olá & hola,

I am currently writing to you from Mérida, Mexico, the capital of the Yucatán Peninsula. I visited this city 18 years ago and returned this holiday season for some relaxation, reflection and 2023 planning. A city known for its history, music, arts, food and culture it is the perfect place for some Farah inspiration!

As many of you know, there have been some big changes over the past year at Farah with the addition of travel. 2023 will bring more, exciting changes which we will be sharing with you early next year.

I want to thank all of you for your support of Farah Trading Co. The past few years have seen ups and downs, highs and lows for just about everyone; here at Farah, having such an engaged group of fans from Oklahoma to Florida to Toronto to Portugal has helped us ride the waves and evolve while staying true to our mission of supporting independent makers and artisans.

Hi everyone! As many of you know I am in Portugal for a month participating in a program sponsored by Turismo de Portugal, the national tourism board, to help spur innovative tourism projects in Portugal & the EU and I could really use your help!

Farah Trading Co was accepted into the program based on our focus on highlighting independent businesses that often are overshadowed in agglomerate travel planning resources and combating over-tourism in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic; something I have been acutely experiencing on this trip.

Incredible visit and tasting under the 2000 year old olive tree at and then a castle visit 5 mins away in the nearby town of Silves. We ❤️ Portugal’s Algarve region! So much Moorish influence (check out the lemonade with cardamom!) ; truly a special place that is so much more than just a beach region!
