The founding member’s main activity was and still is, buying properties mainly in the old town of Lisbon for renovation, architecture and interior design to be sold afterwards. At the time, they had the idea of renting some of the

owned properties situated in a charming historical building, right in the heart of Lisbon’s historical and most central neighborhood – Baixa Pombalina. Providing guests with unique, clean, spacious and excellently located vacation rentals, with refined taste in the quality and design, and combining it with a professional but friendly and easy hosting, got the attention of neighbors and other property owners and also from clients that had renovated houses by them, and soon wanted and started to work together. Today, Diva Apartments, a part of Space Creation, Ltd, is an established brand and, provides the same quality, personal service and comfort experience, offering up to 20 excellence apartments ranging from 2 up until 8 guests, in some of the finest Lisbon´s neighborhoods, such as Baixa, Chiado, Bairro Alto, Santos, Parque das Nações, Almirante Reis, and also in the Algarve. "My little family loved being in this apartment. A great size for 3 people, Martin even provided us a crib and high chair for our 10 month old baby. The washing machine was such an added bonus. I loved the artful touches in the apartment, the art is very tasteful and the old tiles punctuate the authenticity of the space. We loved exploring Belém and doing our daily runs on the river. When I come back to Lisbon I would love to return to this apartment."

"I just want to take a moment and tell your team how much I appreciate the work and the thought you have given to your guests. This is our fourth and final city on our trip and without even a moment of hesitation, I can say that your team is operating on a different (much higher) level than any of our previous hosts. We stayed in Barcelona, Granada, and Sevilla and no other hosts have put together the welcome information you have - even though all hosts have been Superhosts with hundreds of positive reviews on AirBnB. Your detailed instructions for using the appliances in multiple languages - wonderful!!! We washed the same load of laundry three times in Barcelona before we figured out how to switch from washer to dryer - they had an all-in-one unit, but the icons do not mean the same in the USA - we thought we were ‘spinning’ laundry when we were actually using the dryer setting, and we thought we were drying laundry but were actually steaming it!!! A huge waste of time and resource. 🙂 ugh!

Also, the information about the nearest grocery and emergency services - very helpful! Thank you for thinking of these small details. They make a huge difference for your guests.

I also want to say that our host in Sevilla operated similarly with partners to arrange tours, day trips, transfers, etc. But she was very unresponsive - even before we arrived in Seville and not improved during our stay, so we did not use her partners because her lack of timely response made us uneasy. I do not feel that way with your team - you have been VERY responsive and helpful.

Again - I just want to recognize your efforts. It is no small thing to your guests. Thank you again.

"If you are looking for a downtown location in the heart of it all, look no further. Perfect placement in the city. Walkable to many restaurants and sights. Host met us at door for check in which was super helpful. He even brought the famous egg tarts as a welcome gift. Great stay. We would rent again."

"Our family of six had a lovely stay during our time in Lisbon. The elevator helped us get luggage up and down and although the street outside is very narrow (and a bit stressful to unload in) check in/out was a breeze. The apartment itself is very charming and large. A/C was a bonus. And there is a very large bathroom w double sinks and a bathtub - great for our four kids. The location is great - coffee shops and restaurants all around. Martin also recommended an excellent tour company for our trip to Sintra. We had a great stay!"

"Martin was very friendly and welcoming, and made the effort to come and greet us shortly after we let ourselves in. He made lots of great suggestions and was flexible where possible about our arrangements regarding check in and check out. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again in this lovely apartment situated in the heart of Lisbon. The best meal of our trip was at Em Alta na Baixa just a few hundred metres from the apartment. Sintra was well worth a day trip and we enjoyed the Museum of Contemporary Art amongst other attractions. A perfect short break which barely scratched the surface of a brilliant and vibrant city. Thank you again, Martin."

🌟 Marquês de Pombal Roundabout: A Landmark in Lisbon's History!

Did you know that the imposing statue of the Marquês de Pombal, inaugurated in 1934, is a symbol of resilience and modernization in Portugal? 🦁 This majestic monument stands proudly in the roundabout, celebrating the reforms that transformed the country after the devastating earthquake of 1755.

🏛️ Surrounded by allegorical figures, the Marquês is accompanied by references to the University of Coimbra and the innovations in agriculture and education he promoted. The broken stones and waves at the base serve as a reminder of the destruction Lisbon faced and the strength needed to rebuild the city.

✊ Moreover, the square has a vibrant history! In 1910, it was the epicenter of the republican revolt that led to the fall of the monarchy, uniting civilians and military in the quest for change. With barricades built from available materials, this location became a true symbol of resistance and the fight for a better future.

🎉 In 1898, the roundabout hosted a Fair celebrating the 400th Anniversary of the Discovery of India, transforming the area into a large amusement park that attracted crowds and created a festive spirit.

"This is a great apartment for family, or friends. In our case it was three generations of family and the apartment worked well for us. There's ample space within the apartment to socialise, or to spread out and relax. We never cooked in, but the facilities are all there should you want to. There's an abundance of local restaurants and bars and it's well sited for local transport, although we walked to the centre the majority of the time. Communication with the host was excellent with clear details provided for a self check in. Thanks for a very pleasant week."

"Our family of five adults really enjoyed our stay in this apartment for six nights over Christmas. The apartment is spacious and clean and the kitchen is well-supplied. The beds and furniture are very comfortable. The apartment is centrally located in an old section of Lisbon and very "walkable." During our stay our interactions were with Luis. He was very responsive and helpful. He also arranged for transport for us to and from the airport. I highly recommend staying at this apartment."

"We enjoyed our stay greatly! The apartment was exactly as pictured. It was extremely clean and comfortable. The hosts, Martin and Luis were extremely kind and helpful with arranging airport transfers, private tours and local recommendations. The location is very central and walkable to many sights. We would recommend the apartment to all that wish to stay in the historic Baixa neighborhood. We would happily return. Thank you!"

Do you know about the beautiful gardens of Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian?

The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, is one of the most important cultural institutions in Portugal, dedicated to promoting art, science, and culture.
