Bucharest Street Food Festival 🍔 Sunday, last day

Constitution Square and Unirii Boulevard have become one huge open air food court, with the Palace of Parliament as the backdrop.

Celebrating 10 years of street food, music and festival culture, the event continues on Sunday with dozens of food trucks, DJ sets, activities and a live concert by om la lună.

Retro Motorcycle Expo in Bucharest: Historic Bikes on Calea Victoriei 🏍️

Revolution Square is travelling back in time with 2 Historic Wheel, an open air exhibition of historic motorcycles and mopeds manufactured between 1930 and 1990.

Organised with Retromobil Club Romania as part of Open Streets Bucharest, the exhibition offers a rare look at decades of design, engineering and life on two wheels.

Moldovan Wine Festival in Bucharest 🇲🇩

Kiseleff Boulevard has become the capital of Moldovan wine for the weekend.

More than 40 wineries from the Republic of Moldova are presenting award winning wines, sparkling wines and Divin, alongside gastronomy, wine masterclasses, interactive experiences and live contemporary jazz.

Niculescu Dorobanțu House in Bucharest: A French Castle or a Residential Building?

Hidden among the trees on Gheorghe Manu Street, the Niculescu Dorobanțu House looks as if it were transported from the Loire Valley to the heart of Bucharest.

Completed in 1911 and designed by architect Grigore Cerchez, the house was conceived as a reinterpretation of a French Renaissance castle, enriched with neo Gothic decoration. Its exposed red brick, carved stone details, pointed windows and soaring slate tower create one of the most distinctive silhouettes in the city.

Thousands pass nearby without knowing that this remarkable historic monument is hiding just behind the trees.

Gerota House in Bucharest: What Is Its Connection to Brâncuși?

Built in 1901, Gerota House was home to Professor Dr Dimitrie Gerota, a surgeon, anatomist, radiologist and philanthropist. In 1907, he laid the foundation stone of the private sanatorium from which the present Gerota Hospital developed. Professor Dumitru D. Gerota, a university professor, jurist and politician, also lived and studied here.

Dimitrie Gerota taught artistic anatomy at Bucharest’s School of Fine Arts. Under his guidance, the young Constantin Brâncuși created the Écorché, an anatomical study that marked an important stage in the sculptor’s early development.

Behind the elaborate façade lies a remarkable connection between medicine, law and modern art.
