Have You Heard of Romania’s "Babele" Tradition?

Every year, from March 1st to March 9th, Romanians celebrate Babele (The Old Ladies), a fascinating tradition deeply rooted in legend. But what is it all about? 🤔

According to folklore, Baba Dochia, an old woman symbolizing winter, climbed the mountains with her sheep, shedding her coats as the weather seemed to warm. However, a sudden cold snap turned her to stone.

Romanians choose a day between March 1-9, and the weather on that day is said to predict their luck for the year! Will your Baba be sunny or stormy?
