The Empress Elizabeth gave toIbrahimPetrovich Hannibal who has been famous "Blackamoor of Peter the Great" a land of Michailovskaya Bay. Back then; this land included 569 souls, which were kindly given for use in perpetuity. Family estate of Hannibals was renamed by Abram into Petrovsoye. He did so to keep the memory of his patron - Peter I. Abram has also gave one of his sons a name of Peter who then becameits landlord and continuously lived here for 40 years! A huge mansion has been built here while he was a landlord and The foundation for the park has been laid as well. Park is quite petit, only 9 hectares, but it is has preserved its styleof the late 18th very well.
Pushkin was a frequent visitor athis cousin great-grandfather. The story "Peter the Great's Negro", the poem "Hannibal and PushkinGeneaology", "How Czar Peter the Great Married Off His Moor", all these worksare owed a lot to conversations with Peter Abramovich and narratives from old servants from there.
The character of Peter Abramovitch along with his hot temper can be easily guesstimated in K.P.Troyekurov who represents an imperious landowner from the novel "Dubrovsky".
