Something very cool happened today for Shelly Anne Rosen Photography! One of her Images from Akagera National Park was picked to be used as the art work for a bus stop, somewhere in Seattle, her hometown. This Lilac Breasted Roller will be living in a bus stop in Seattle soon. Friends of Akagera National Park Akagera is my Happy Place and an LBR is my favorite bird. So very excited.

NOTICE:

We’re taking a stand against single-use plastic items in Akagera National Park and asking you to stand with us.

Rwanda is known as a clean and green country; its wild places should be the cleanest and greenest. Dealing with plastic pollution is a challenge anywhere, even more so in a National Park. Help us to ease this burden for Akagera and allow us to devote our time and resources to protecting the park’s environment and wildlife, instead of dealing with plastics.

It is in this regard that the management of Akagera has decided to ban single-use plastic items within the park premises starting from June 1st, 2024. Visitors are encouraged to support this initiative by bringing their water in refillable water bottles and consider using returnable, refillable 20L bottles instead of single-use plastic bottles. and bringing their packed lunch in reusable Tupperware containers instead of plastic wrapping or tin foil.
