We’ve just completed an unforgettable cycling journey from Bugesera to Rubavu, discovering Rwanda’s beauty, culture, and lakeside magic along the way.
**Stage 1: Bugesera → Nyanza**
Our adventure began with smooth paved roads leading us to Nyanza, where we explored the historic King’s Palace Museum and experienced Rwanda’s rich royal heritage.
**Stage 2: Nyanza → Karongi**
The ride continued through Rwanda’s stunning hills toward Lake Kivu. In Karongi, we visited different islands on the lake, enjoyed breathtaking sunset views from the water, and experienced the peaceful atmosphere that makes Lake Kivu truly special.
**Stage 3: Karongi → Rubavu**
Our final stage brought us to the beautiful lakeside town of Rubavu, where we relaxed on sandy beaches and visited the famous natural hot springs known locally as “Amashyuza,” with their naturally warm water flowing all year round.
The entire route was covered on smooth tarmac roads, making the ride enjoyable and perfect for both adventure seekers and cycling lovers. The photos say it all — great roads, incredible scenery, and an amazing journey from start to finish.
