Amazigh women are great artists. They make clothing, tents, pottery, decorate face, hands and feet with henna, and they also weave carpets that reinforces their culture and identity. ⁣

These practices have been carried out for thousands of years. It is known that visual expression, drawings and symbols go far back in time. Before people could even write, people expressed their feelings and art in caves and on rocks.⁣

The woman expresses her personal struggles, happiness or joy in her carpet. The colours, symbols and shapes, chosen by these women, tell powerful stories. Their own story. Each carpet has it’s own story and tells a different story. ⁣

It can truly speak to you..⁣

These women bringing metaphorically the wool back to life. Legends say the wool is thought to be full with baraka(𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨), and it is believed that some of this baraka is to be transferred to the woman who is weaving the carpet, the one who is bringing the wool back to life..⁣

The amazigh women who work wool are highly respected by their tribe, and it is said that a woman who makes 40 carpets during her lifetime is guaranteed passage into heaven after she dies.⁣

⁣And I think thats beautiful..💙⁣🌼
