Lost & Found: Serangoon An audio-visual walking trail of Serangoon North
Arts in Your Neighbourhood
28 November 2021 Ageless. What will we find? And what gets lost along the way?

โ€œ๐˜๐˜ฆ๐˜ญ๐˜ญ๐˜ฐ?โ€
A voice crackles through the ether.

Searching.
A crossed wire broadcasts a singular voice from another time to reach our present selves, telling a tale that is both anachronistic and true to life.

own a winding road uncovering the micro-histories and stories of Serangoon and its place names through the ages: from Sa Ranggong to Hwi Yoh, RAF Chia Keng, Ang Sar Li and more. Fusing original music, narrative and visual imagery, ๐—Ÿ๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜ & ๐—™๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ฑ: ๐—ฆ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ป is simultaneously a love letter to the neighbourhood and a journey through a rich and imagined memoryscape, underpinned by historical research and stories of residents past and present. The arts trail focuses on various sites in and around Serangoon North, referencing present-day landmarks such as the chirpily noisy Pet Walk, as well as its lost trades, which included a 50m-long dragon kiln, rope making and tropical fish farming cottage industries that older residents would know of. Come experience ๐—Ÿ๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜ & ๐—™๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ฑ: ๐—ฆ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ป on your own, with friends and family, or join one of the guided tours, to recollect and reimagine the histories and futures of a place that means many things to many people. https://lostnfoundserangoon.sg (full release on 11 Nov)
