12 hours, by highway into B road in Gerik in northern Perak near the Thai border, the road narrows and we take a turn off the tarmac into the region we named “The Last Frontier”. Another 2 hours in on unnavigatable land and we were relying on physical maps to determine location. We have to break camp in the middle of nowhere and continue to journey to our destination the next day.

Breakfast, washing up, here we deployed our Hannibal “bird cage”, a multi layer meshed drying rack that let the gentle breeze flow through and dry our cutleries quickly. This campsite was pristine, in some other more accessible campsites, there will be flys and insects in which this bird cage perform best to keep them out.

The next morning, we simply collapse it and slot it behind the back seat, taking no space at all.

Beauty of Borneo
Having travelled extensively in West Malaysia and Peninsular Asean by land, we have now shifted focus slightly to explore the charm of Borneo. Peninsular Asean is the term we use for Singapore, West Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Vietnam collectively. This excluded Indonesia and Philippines and other ASEAN countries not connected by land.

We are coming up with a franchise called Borneo Overland, where we will test our equipment extensively, like how we did in Penninsular Asean in expedition overland events spanning from 2D1N to well over 30 days full expeditions.

With out extensive local network, as well as our appetite from ASEAN adventures, we will unlease the territory.
