Indie Singapore Experience Singapore Differently!

Short for "Independent Singapore", we believe that Singapore is an awesome destination that can be explored by independent travellers and even locals who have been living here all their lives. We believe that beneath the gleaming layer that most visitors see, there is a richer and more colorful culture just waiting to be discovered.

This all exists because of YOU

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. But looking at this, we realized it’s worth something much more valuable: **Thousands of memories.**

**Thank you.** You are the heartbeat of Indie Singapore.

As we step into 2026, our resolution remains the same: To show you the Singapore that exists *beyond* the guidebook. We are doubling down on the grit, the glamour, the heritage, and the hawker feasts that make this island UNESCO-recognised and utterly unique.

Whether you are a traveler seeing our skyline for the first time, a corporate booker, a luxury traveler, a local history buff, a frequent traveler to Singapore, we have a story waiting for you.

**👇 Tell us below: What is your Travel Vibe for 2026?**

B) 🧠 **The Thinker:** I want deep history & culture.
C) 🌳 **The Explorer:** Show me the off-the-beaten-path nature.

*(Drop an A, B, or C in the comments and we’ll DM you a personalized recommendation!)*

We love the chaotic, beautiful symphony of our hawker centres!

We designed "Hawker Tales" to try to tell this story. We explore how scarcity sparked innovation, how migration patterns shaped our palates, and how specific neighbourhoods like the and area became the test kitchens for dishes that define our national identity today.

It was a joy to host and watch her connect the dots between the flavours we love and the history we often overlook.

This tour is an open invitation to every Singaporean: come trade stories with us. Let’s document the "unwritten rules" and fading rituals of our food culture before they disappear completely.

**Ready to reclaim your heritage?**
This experience is fully redeemable with your credits!

Came out of the mad Weekend with news that made our whole team stop and go, "Wow." named our "Hush!" Night Food tour in Geylang as one of the best food tours in Asia.

We affectionately call these our "Ugly Food Tours" Series. The food we feature is 'ugly' because it’s the opposite of a perfectly curated Instagram feed. It's the messy, soulful, unapologetically delicious food that Singaporeans actually eat.

This is the food served on plastic plates, eaten on wobbly stools. The kind of food that’s a conversation starter. It’s over a delicious durian, a plate of smoky chao ta beehoon or a bubbling claypot of pitch black stew that you hear the real stories—about the hawker who’s been there for 40 years, the history of the back alley, the everyday lives of the people who call this place home.

It took a lot of legwork to bring our Geylang tour to life, building trust one conversation, one kopi and one shared meal at a time. It’s the same spirit behind our "Hawker Tales" ( available for booking using ) and our "Bright Lights and Sinful Bites" tour in Jalan Besar. The best way to know our streets is to go where the food is most honest.

These tours are designed for those who believe the best way to know a place is to eat with its people. It's a table for those who are curious, who want to swap stories, and make new friends along the way.

Come pull up a chair. Let's eat and talk

This chair.

We're willing to bet you've never really given it a second thought.

And honestly? That’s the whole point.

We’re a little obsessed with these 'invisible' designs. The things that are so good at their jobs, they just blend into the background of our lives. We believe it’s the story of Singapore —a place built on clever, thoughtful things that quietly make life better for all of us.

So, this , we're going down the rabbit hole.

Along with , we’ve created three special journeys to explore the next chapter of this story.

Expect to see some truly wild stuff: architectural marvels, the future of our food (weird sausages included, you've been warned), and even a surprisingly profound chicken farm right in the heart of town.

Think of it as an adventure with curious friends. If you love a good story and getting a look behind the curtain, we’d love for you to join us.

What’s an everyday Singaporean design you think is secretly genius?

06/09/2025

Beyond the glittering skyline and futuristic gardens lies a blueprint. A story of deliberate choices, of challenges met with ingenuity, and of a future imagined decades in advance.

We've always believed the most compelling way to understand Singapore is to look for this hidden intentionality. To ask Why our public spaces feel the way they do, How our food culture evolved, and What holds our communities together.

For Singapore Design Week 2025, we are so proud to invite you on this exploration. We've curated three distinct journeys that trace the threads of this master plan through the future of our Design, Food, and Community. This is your chance to go beyond sightseeing and connect with the very ideas that built our home.

Discover the Singapore that was, and is, a Nation by Design.

There’s nothing quite like seeing your home through fresh, curious eyes. We were absolutely thrilled to be featured in the "4 Days in Singapore Ultimate Travel Guide" by the wonderful Dan and Lloyd of LoveitBookit.com

When they wanted to explore a side of Singapore that goes beyond the usual postcards, we knew just where to take them. Our brilliant guide, Su, led them through the vibrant, story-filled streets of Geylang, diving deep into the history and soul of this vibrant off-the-beaten-track and extremely colorful district.

Of course, no authentic trip to Geylang is complete without a true Singaporean rite of passage: trying the King of Fruits! We won't spoil everything, but let’s just say their honest reaction to durian (starting at 19:31) is pure gold and a hilarious reminder that this is an experience you feel as much as you taste. Whether you love it or hate it, you never forget your first time.

It’s these real, unscripted moments of discovery (and sometimes, delightful shock!) that make travel so memorable. A huge thank you to the LoveitBookit team for capturing the spirit of our tours so perfectly.

Want to see what happens when you step off the beaten path? Watch their full, fantastic guide to Singapore. Our feature on the "Hush: Geylang Night Food Tour" begins at 16:58!

And if you’re looking for your own unforgettable Singapore story (durian optional, but highly encouraged 😉), you know who to call.

Thank you VisitSingapore and Singapore Tourism Board for this brilliant opportunity!

What an honour to be part of the buzz this Michelin award season in Singapore! We were privileged to be engaged to guide a wonderful group of media and journalists on a specially curated journey: "The Michelin Mile: 1000 Steps of Yums" food tour.

Our mission? To explore the heart of Singapore's culinary scene on foot. We navigated four legendary hawker centres, savouring over ten incredible dishes from celebrated winners. This was also a deeper dive into the 'why'—the rich history of our hawker culture, the significance of its UNESCO Intangible Heritage recognition, and the beautiful, complex cultural fabric that makes every bite a taste of Singapore.

We believe that to truly understand a culture, you must understand its food. We explored how these humble dishes tell powerful stories of migration, innovation, and community.

A huge thank you to our guests—the writers, journalists, and tastemakers—for their incredible patience (navigating hawker centres is a sport!) and infectious enthusiasm. Your curiosity and thoughtful questions made the experience truly special.

While this was a specially curated journey, it captures the heart of what we do: connecting people to the authentic stories behind the flavour. This is how we believe food should be experienced—with context, with passion, and with great company.

Thank you for this incredible opportunity!
