Indie Singapore Experience Singapore Differently!

Short for "Independent Singapore", we believe that Singapore is an awesome destination that can be explored by independent travellers and even locals who have been living here all their lives. We believe that beneath the gleaming layer that most visitors see, there is a richer and more colorful culture just waiting to be discovered.

The hardest part about Season 1 and 2 of Hawker Tales was turning people away.

When we built a tour entirely around nearly extinct hawker dishes, we did not expect it to sell out for months straight. We also did not expect the Singapore Tourism Board to nominate it as one of the Best Tour Experiences of 2026.

But the statistic we are most proud of is this: 90 percent of the locals who walked with us tasted something they had never eaten before.

Season 3 is finally live. We are heading back into the streets to serve up Sup Tulang Merah, Ayam Buah Keluak, and the stories of the hawker heroes keeping these trades alive.

The best part? It is fully eligible for the SG Culture Pass. You can experience an award-nominated culinary deep dive just by using your government credits.

Comment the word SEASON3 below. We will send the booking link directly to your inbox so you can secure your spot before the weekend clears out.

Every 9 Aug, we try to sum up a whole country in a single image. A flag. A skyline. A parade.

It never quite works. That is the best thing about this place.

Because while the fireworks go up tonight, a stall in Geylang will be firing up for the supper crowd. Somewhere in Jalan Besar a shutter is coming down for the last time. A kopitiam in Bedok has uncles gathered around mugs of b**r chilled by ice cubes.

All of that is National Day too. None of it looks the same.

Sixty-one years in, this country still refuses to sit still long enough to be summed up. We have stopped trying to, and started listening instead.

So tell us about Your Singapore. The street, the stall, the five-foot way — the one you would take a stranger to if they asked what this place actually is. We will read every reply, and we will go and walk a few of them.

If you would like to find out about Our Singapore, join us for one of our walks (especially those that are eligible for redemption with )

Happy 61st, our Little Red Dot.

We usually smell like wok hei, humidity, and charcoal smoke. But last night, the Indie Singapore team cleaned up nicely for the "Oscars" of our industry.

We were absolutely blown away to walk into the 2026 with TWO of our tours ( and of Jalan Besar) nominated for Outstanding Tour Experience.

We didn't take home the top prize—that went to our amazing industry friends at Let's Go Tour Singapore for their Kelong boat experience (seriously, go check it out, it’s brilliant).

Best part of the night is sitting in that room, surrounded by our fellow guides, operators, and the incredible team at Singapore Tourism Board who support us all, and build an amazing system that encourages collaboration

The "Kampong Spirit" in Singapore’s tourism industry is real. We might be competitors on paper, but on the ground, we are just a big village of storytellers trying to tell our unique Singapore Story, and show the world how beautiful our home is.

To every single guest who walked the streets, braved the heat, and ate the "ugly food" with us this past year: This recognition belongs to you.

Some mornings on the job are heavier than others.

Last week, our amazing guide, Eunice, was asked to lead a private walk at for the top military leadership of both Malaysia and Singapore.

Bukit Chandu is where Lt Adnan Saidi and the Royal Malay Regiment fought to the very end in 1942. It is a sacred space for both nations.

To witness the commanders of both armed forces walking this shared ground together to honor that legacy was a profound moment for our team. It’s a reminder that history isn't just dates in a textbook—it's the very real ground we walk on, and it still connects us today.

We are so incredibly proud of Eunice for guiding this high-stakes morning with such grace and deep knowledge.

To the men of the Royal Malay Regiment who held the line at Pasir Panjang: We still tell your story.

Most locals think they know Marina Bay, but thousands walk past these hidden doors every single day without looking twice.

Did you know your $100 SG Culture Pass credit is the key to unlocking the secret side of our city's most famous National Monument?

has officially partnered with and to launch "The Fullerton Heritage Spice Trail." We are taking you into former mail tunnels, along the original shoreline, and a secret urban farm hidden right in the C*D.

We’ve designed a comfortable, immersive journey that ends with an exclusive heritage tea break (featuring the exact spices that built our maritime history) at The Fullerton.

This is the ultimate 2026 experience, but our milestone collaboration means public slots are incredibly limited.

This makes us SO HAPPY!!!

Apparently, a three-hour walking tour with us might accidentally derail your future travel plans.

When Devin and Melissa booked a walk with us a decade ago, we just wanted to show them a good time, eat some good food, and prove that Singapore is more than just a shiny airport.

Clearly, things escalated...

Swipe to slide two to read the message we woke up to this morning.

There are a lot of beautiful places in Singapore to take engagement photos. But the fact that Devin and Melissa chose to come back to Singapore to shoot theirs on our ? That tells us everything we need to know. They didn't just fall in love with the postcard version of Singapore; they fell in love with the everyday rhythm of it.

To watch guests transition from strangers, to regulars, to people tying the knot on our public transit, is the greatest privilege of doing this job.

Devin, Melissa—the next time you land at Changi with the baby, the first round of Kopi is on me. We've got a lot of catching up to do.

*What does a World No. 1 read while walking through Singapore?*

We had the distinct privilege of hosting tennis legend in the heritage district of

The itinerary, beautifully curated by the and supported on the ground by local fixers, Mozaika Pte Ltd, was designed to show the slower, quieter side of our city.

It was definitely an honor to be up close and personal with the former world champion, and just having some really good conversations as we wandered down the streets, exploring quaint little artisanal shops like the inimitable

We spent the afternoon "enabling" her shopping habits (sorry, Ash!), discussing the importance of empowering young girls, and proving that Singaporean Kopi MIGHT give Melbourne Americanos a run for its money.

Inside , Ash pointed out the book *"The Courage to be Disliked"* by Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga. She mentioned it had a huge influence on her life. Suddenly, her retirement at the peak of her career made even more sense. It was a moment of profound connection—realizing that whether you are a Grand Slam champion or a local kopi aunty, we are all searching for the same peace.

Tourism can be as simple as that: finding the spaces where people feel safe enough to be themselves. Thank you to the team, , and Mosaika for trusting us with the narrative.

*Pop Icon x Chinatown OGs*

What a weekend! We had the privilege of walking the festive streets of Chinatown with and the amazing production team from . We walked down strange alleyways and up our heritage shophouses to see the parts of Chinatown behind the festivities.

Huge shout-out to for facilitating the itinerary and bringing all the moving parts together.

For us, it was such a honor to hang out with Ana from and from .sg . It is always insightful to hear your perspectives of the challenges heritage businesses face. Thanks for keeping our alive, in spite of the headwinds.

Our favorite moment of the day has got to be Slide 2

Ruel watching and then dancing along with our Chinatown karaoke uncles. Music is such an amazing unifier to bring 2 different worlds together.

We love what we do! Thank you for trusting us to provide the narrative glue for this walk
