This is one of our all-time favourite place for Oyster Omelette (Orh Luak) in Singapore. The oysters are from Korea 🇰🇷, which are so plump and juicy, which complements the eggs 🥚 and flour batter perfectly. The Lim couple 👨🏻‍🍳👩🏻‍🍳 has been running this stall for over 30 years. They offer a unique wet version of Oyster Omelette, which was simply outstanding! The dry/crispy version was good as well. Wow, just excellent 👍🏻

ⓣⓘⓜ ⓢⓤⓜ
Located at the heart of Jalan Besar, Swee Choon (.sg) is one of Singapore’s oldest tim sum restaurants, that is said to have 40 years of heritage. It is also one of our favourite supper spots as it opens to from 6pm to 6am daily (except on Tuesdays). Don’t be too alarmed by the perpetual long queue outside the restaurant, as they have a efficient SMS queuing system 📱which notifies you promptly when your turn is near.
Dim sum is known for ordering a variety of dishes so that everybody can share 🥢 and here are our 2 favourite items which we ordered:
1. Prawns and Banana fritter (S$2.80). Combining prawns and bananas might sound weird, but it was a surprisingly delicious. The bananas 🍌lend a sweetness to the prawns 🍤 that oddly works so well together, it’s definitely a must order! 👍🏻
2. Swee Choon Mee Suah Kueh [Fried Vermicelli Cake] (S$2.00). This is one of Swee Choon’s signature dishes, which comprised of Swee Choon’s signature carrot kueh with Mee Suah mounted on top before being deep fried. This pairing lends a very multi-dimensional taste to the softness of the carrot kueh 🥕
The variety of dim sum served here is amazing, as they even do serve sze char dishes. There are definitely hits and misses but if you craving for tim sum at night that won’t put a hole in your wallet 👛, Swee Choon is definitely the place to go!

S҉A҉S҉H҉I҉M҉I҉ B҉U҉F҉F҉E҉T҉
Located in the lobby of Hotel Miramar, Ikoi Japanese Restaurant () serves an excellent ala carte buffet at just S$38++ per adult and S$22++ per child. The buffet offers an extensive spread of fresh Japanese cuisine that ranges from sashimi, sushi, grilled dishes, handrails, fried dishes to ramen 🇯🇵🍙🍡🍜
Ikoi’s sashimi is a not-to-be-missed dish, and has been viewed as one of the restaurants serving best sashimi in town by local foodies. As seen in the photo we took, the tasty sashimi cuts are thick and very fresh 🐟🐠
Do note that the restaurant has a small and cosy setting with limited seatings, so advanced reservations ☎️ are highly recommended because this restaurant is highly popular for its buffet!

We bought this aesthetically lovely Batik Roll Cake for Mother’s Day 🤶🏻 this year. Each roll is expertly handcrafted with 🌸🌹🌼🌷🌺🏵 flowery patterns, that are almost too beautiful to eat 🍴 We cannot help but fall in love 💓 with the intricate exterior patchwork. Our mothers definitely deserved such beautiful cakes on their special day!
The Batik Rolls come in six unique hand-drawn designs, with each roll measuring ~22cm long. They come in three different flavoured fillings: Nutella, Vanilla, and Blueberry Buttercream, ranging from S$26 to S$28 depending on the design chosen.
More importantly, they are halal-certified and are very instagrammable too!
Happy Mother’s Day to all mums out there! ♥️

It’s Tulip Mania at Gardens by the Bay!
Fun Fact: As “The most coveted flower in the world”, the demand for tulips in the 1600s began “Tulip Mania” in the Netherlands 🇳🇱 At the height of the tulip craze, the most expensive 💰💲💸 tulip, the Semper Augustus, rose to f10,000 (Dutch Guilder), equivalent to the cost of a grand house 🏘 along the canal in Amsterdam or enough to feed a Dutch family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 for half a lifetime!

Happy Labour Day everyone! We spent some time today since it is a public holiday to visit Old Airport Road Food Centre. We are huge fans of Hokkien Mee 🍜 and so we had to try the famous Nam Sing Hokkien Fried Mee (Hougang) [南星福建炒虾面], which is reputed for selling one of the best Hokkien Mee in Singapore! 🇸🇬
Nam Sing was opened by a band of brothers since 1963 and their style is slightly different as it uses thin Bee Hoon (white rice vermicelli) on top of yellow noodles. It is a dry version as the gravy is being absorbed by the noodles and bee hoon. We were greedy and we ordered the largest portion S$8 (S$3 and S$5 portions also available) and it certainly lived up to the hype as the noodles and bee hoon were Al Dente and it does not have the alkaline noodle taste. Each bite was savoury as the owner used a mixture of prawns, squids and anchovies 🦐🐙 in the stock! We were truly awed by this plate of Hokkien Mee! 👍🏻
We were also given a saucer of cut red chilli 🌶 (instead of the usual sambal chilli paste) in soy sauce and a lime to complement to the noodles and we felt that one improvement was to provide spicier chilli such as chilli padi, so to bring out more “oomph” and elevate the dish further! Nonetheless, we will be back again!
P.S.: Be prepared to wait at least an hour long if you do visit during peak meal times. They are extremely popular!

Happy Monday: HOLLIN ( ) is a brand new Taiwanese bubble milk tea 🍵specialty shop that differentiates itself from other competitors by selling different flavoured pearls daily!
We tried their Matcha Latte (S$4.20) and their Matcha Pearls (S$0.70). Their Matcha pearls were bittersweet and chewy, and it paired really nicely with the taste of the Matcha Latte💚They also offer a wide selection of drinks include Tea Latte, Tea and Sea Salt Macchiato etc.
What’s more, you are also able to view 👀 the entire pearls-making process as they have a pearl machine beside their cashier counter and these are their daily specials:
